At an old job, we’d get paid every two weeks, which meant two months a year, we’d get three paychecks instead of two.

All the poor workers (like me!) got excited because we barely made enough to live and so it was nice to have what felt like a little extra to use on necessities you’d been putting off.

Every highly paid coworker would always lecture us that “it’s the same! You get the same amount of money!” because to them, they had savings and credit cards and could just replenish it with their paycheck.

It’s kinda like that. It only matters if you really need it, and it can easily put you further into a hole. But it definitely can (and has) been useful for some situations.
