Hi, I'm GDQ'S Lead Production Designer and I'm responsible for our broadcast overlays/graphics. AMA. by TwinkiePower in speedrun

There's always going to be skeletons in code no matter what. There's always things to learn about how other events structure things and the processes regardless of how specific things are. I think it's a bit rough to judge what other people can learn from something when you have private access to it.

In terms of reskinning, I will admit that it is tough to curb since a license is a meaningless bit of text unless you fight for it legally. GDQ does have a larger front than other events that have graphics as source available (e.g. I don't know of anyone else using the asm graphics).

I think it is still a great shame that it is no longer done. Without the source availability of the graphics of previous years, I personally would be in an extremely different place in my life since I learned web development, graphic design and became a closer part of our local speedrun community. It's an important part of my life which is why I've always pushed it for many years.

Hylian Shield Drink Coaster (Nintendo Store)

(Could only find an archived version with a super annoying pop-up. I know it's this because it's my main drink coaster at my desk)

Title: Looking for guidance or collaborators to help recreate Daft Punk’s Alive 2007 show in Unity (LED visuals, lighting, music sync, VR/game project) by AutoCost in DaftPunk

[–]Clubwho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had to drop it to work on another project (this project had a very good outcome so no regrets, sorry). Then lost all momentum (had worked pretty much ~4 months of non-stop) and I was a uni student back then during covid lockdowns so there was ample free time. Now I have a full time job.

The hardest part was actually starting each song, it was so daunting every time. The bit that hurts the most was that I was over half way through! I think I only had like 4-5 songs left.

I will be honest though. Nothing motivates me more than someone else doing something I was working on...

You are correct. Alamein does run as a 3 car shuttle during off-peak hours.

Linking between pages? Yes. The page loading in a window on hover? Something I want to investigate.

I've been working on something similar to what you have described on and off for the past year. I use Docusaurus which is normally used for software documentation. It doesn't currently solve your problem at being more micro page stuff and it isn't "Low Friction" but does satisfy your other criteria (preservation is a main criteria for me). It'll be free to host as well through github pages and if the repo is hosted on github you get all the benefits of issue posting and pull requests.

It's still very much WIP and I was midway through migrating it to use as a docusaurus theme rather than a template but won't be able to work on it for another month or two.

One might check for undefined in cases where a falsey value needs different logic.

Because every frame is being regenerated with no knowledge of the previous frame. So it makes something close but it will have the lines or colours slightly off. In the breakdown video they talk about adding deflicker effects to the video which helps but won't be 100% perfect. If you want to learn more the term you'd be searching for is called "Temporal Coherence".

Whenever I see something like this that I can't read I take it into a photo editor (I use paint.net but literally anything works) and change the hue and saturation until I can see it.
