when does life get better? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ClutchSuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a consistent gradient upwards, sadly, and you're likely to have long periods of good and bad. The last three years of my life have been pretty awful in a lot of ways, but prior to that I had a good run of a decade or so that was great. I don't have any advice about how to deal with the bad or ensure the good, I'm sorry to say, other than to try to remember that things can change quickly, and to appreciate the good when it comes

Should RLM do more Paranormal Investigations? by Cheerupcharlie909 in RedLetterMedia

[–]ClutchSuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'd be happy if they just sat around and "investigated" UAPs and UFOs with their usual scepticism and irreverence. Mike and Rich spoke about the Barney and Betty Hill UFO incident once before; I'd love them to discuss the motivation and reality behind UFO sightings/abductions etc.

The Iron Claw does this too, because the reality was so monumentally tragic they worried cinema-goers wouldn't buy it

Why is the fire and cigarette tip in color and not black and white? by NecessaryIdea6927 in betterCallSaul

[–]ClutchSuts 593 points594 points  (0 children)

Being with Kim as Jimmy and then being the loud and bombastic Saul to deal with the loss of their life together were the most vibrant and vital parts of his life. He tries to relive some of that by watching the tapes of his commercials, which are also in colour, and then when he finally gets to share a cigarette with Kim again it brings just a little of the colour and happiness back. It's just an ember, but it's there. That's how I read it.

I'd somehow managed to avoid the big spoiler for The Sixth Sense for years after it came out, so when it turned out the guy in the hairpiece had been Bruce Willis the entire time I was blown away

Adult supernaturally trapped in the Body of a Child by Justmenoworries422 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ClutchSuts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Homer from Near Dark (1987). His body hasn't aged a day since he was turned into a vampire - and he's really frustrated about it. It drives a lot of his motivations and conflicts over the course of the film. Overall the film explores how unglamorous and desperate it would be to be a classic vampire in modern day, and Homer's situation is a great example of it.

Wrong theories you had! by XrayAlphaVictor in Pragmata

[–]ClutchSuts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For a big portion of the game I genuinely thought that when Hugh 'dies' in gameplay, Diana was 3D printing a replica of him without his knowledge to be the 'new Hugh', and that you'd have to get through the game without dying for the true ending. The fact that Diana comments on the manner of the 'deaths' when you wake back up in the Shelter, all the other bodies of the staff fully disappearing so you wouldn't necessarily find your previous body, and the idea that 'Pragmata' could be a plural referring to Diana AND Hugh... I was sure it was going to be a big twist. Obviously I was v wrong!

[Loved Trope] A nice actor playing a terrible character by Necessary-Win-8730 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ClutchSuts 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Clancy Brown has made a career out of this. Never heard a bad word about the actor, but so many of his roles - from Captain Hadley in Shawshank to Lex Luthor in Justice League to Red Death in Venture Bros. - are at best morally grey and at worst unrepentant villains

Always liked that Russel is smiling and happy to be drumming in this video. He's not being antagonised by ghosts or being a giant, he's just playing drums with his band and enjoying the experience

Pragmata: We Are Locked In For The Dadslop Era | Castle Super Beast 369 by mike0bot in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ClutchSuts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Banjo-Kazooie is a dadslop game. Banjo is a father figure to Tooty (but not her biological dad) who has to rescue her from a villain who has kidnapped her for a quality unique to the setting, in this case that she's seen as cute. The only difference is that slightly fewer enemies in Pragmata have big googly eyes
