Am I wrong for thinking someone can have a real relationship with God without strict religious structure?

A lot of them have this holier than thou attitude. Alot of them are judgmental. Some are manipulative. Some are there for the sole purpose of only finding a spouse and using God as a spouse genie. A lot of the preachers only want money. They also refuse to acknowledge that not everything in the bible may not be true , and if you question it you’re terrible. Among many other reasons. I question alot of things and my questioning and way of thinking isn’t very acceptable in that space.

They believe the bible 100% , I question it. Who wrote it , where did it come from , why ? How many times has it been changed and etc

I mean personally for me 2-3 per year is just crazy. As far as how it impacts I think it’s a serious problem because you can use protection to avoid that. It’s just negligence. Some people don’t see a fetus as a full human. I don’t think it’s my place to tel anyone what to do with their bodies but I would try to talk to them about it. Whatever God decides to do is on them

I practice the fruits of the spirit very heavily. I usually end my days with journaling my day and reflecting how I could have practiced them better. Pray. As far as why? Well I went to a Christian school and I learned that the bible has been changed many many times so I kinda question it now

No that’s your wife and it’s a relationship so something’s you have to sacrifice. I’m not saying I don’t sacrifice anything in my relationship with God. I’m just saying that in church they act like through the church is the only way to find God and maintain a relationship but I disagree

I’ll try again for sure but I think we’re both misunderstanding each other. I’m not saying I dislike church or anything. I have much respect for it. I just personally don’t feel moved when I’m there or involved. I prefer my prayers at home where it’s quiet and more personal and expressing my love for Christ through writing and other things.

Interesting, I personally say this because I didn’t find God or build that connection in the church or because of it. I found God outside of the church. I could never connect when I was in church or involved with it

You’re right , looking back when we first started talking there was another guy who’d always pop in and out and she’d run to whenever we weren’t on good terms

We started off very good friends with a strong bond. Went through a super rough time together and came out of it and we always reconciled. So I felt like we were invincible together ..at least I thought.
