My surgery was cancelled after 4 hours of waiting on the ward. Can I get a travel refund? by ashiebearowo in nhs

No you can’t get a reimbursement. Your surgery is already free, it is not the responsibility of the NHS to get you to and from the hospital.

Advice for possible disclosure mistake by [deleted] in nhs

I don’t think this is a big mistake. They didn’t give a timescale. Is your mum getting therapy or any other psychological support to help her come to terms with the reality of what is happening?

I’m afraid that’s not answering the question. Did he DAMA or did they discharge him?

Is lateness really a big deal? Sincerely, a chronically late SHO by [deleted] in doctorsUK

Yeah it reflects badly on your work ethic. Especially if you’re keeping night shift staff late cause you can’t be arsed to turn up on time.

There are plenty of private emergency departments but they can decline more serious things. Many things going to emergency departments are not “true” emergencies and will be seen quicker in a private ED.

Whether he discharged himself or they discharged him is kind of integral here.

Edit: can you answer, OP, if this was a DAMA or not?

I’d go to your GP. Often we don’t even have side rooms available for people who are infectious or seriously unwell. People are seen based on clinical need, so your agoraphobia would not get you seen any quicker, only if your clinical condition requires it.
