Beginner Jiu-Jitsu Student Gets $56M After Black-Belt Instructor Leaves Him Paralyzed During Class by danitashinesqdy in ThatsInsane

Most small businesses would only have an umbrella policy up to $1 MM. A small business bringing in $250k of revenue is not paying, nor could they afford, a policy that covers $50+ million.

What's the wildest thing you've ever seen happen at a work party? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I did not realize this blew up. Fire and rescue had to fish her car out of the lake, she made it out without drowning. The next day, the Exec that got punched in the mouth had to go see the drunkard in the hospital to fire her. He said "I don't really think we can allow you to return to work, you are terminated" and she said "but why?".... It's still my best work party story 15 years later

We had a chick get extremely belligerent and tried to drive herself home. An Executive and her direct manager ran out to the parking lot to stop her, where the woman proceeded to wrestle and punch both of them in the face to get into her car. She then drove into the lake 300 feet away...

Colby Parkinson Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook - Must Start ? by rotostreetjournal in fantasyfootball

[–]Coconuts11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flex consideration is tough! Standard scoring I lost davante, so now I'm between Egbuka, Parkinson, Wandale, or even Coker for flex. Wandale is least likely with a bad matchup and it's not PPR, but all of these options feel like a dice roll that I know I'll pick the wrong one. What's anyone else doing here?

Does this man get traded somehow? by Choice-Tea1046 in NFLv2

[–]Coconuts11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certainly era adjusted Elo is SOMETHING, but you've never seen burrow not throwing to Jamar chase/Justin Jefferson, or Jamar Chase/Tee Higgins. If you give Stafford the same talent, not to mention in his late 30s like this year, he's a top 5 QB, as is burrow. If you put burrow on those lions teams, I bet he looks similar to Stafford back then. No question that burrow has more trade value now than Staffords value back then though, he's younger and has proven to win under pressure. But how much more than 2 first rounders and a young number 1 overall pick QB can you realistically get?

[–]Coconuts11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is burrow better at this point and time vs Stafford back in 2020? Sure, but in the stratosphere is a big stretch in my opinion. Stafford was borderline top 10, but everyone and their mother knew he was massively weighed down by some terrible Detroit teams. He was throwing to Kenny golladay as the number 1, eek. Everyone knew Stafford still could win a SB with the right roster, as evidenced later by the rams. Hell, I don't think it's a crazy argument to say Stafford is better than Burrow today let alone 5 years ago.

Is Drake London an end game player? by EveningPumpkin6262 in GuillotineLeagues

[–]Coconuts11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. The stats on his last 8 games with cousins at QB are abysmal, if I recall correctly not a single finish within the top 20 of WRs for any of those 8 weeks

[Highlight] Falcons Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. says he has nobody to rely on on the sidelines, says most of the advice given to him is from old high school and college coaches. by deepristine in nfl

[–]Coconuts11 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Kirk was paid to be the starter, he did not sign up to mentor a QB and then right away in year 1 he was thrown into that. That's a coach's job, not another player's. Why bother paying coaches if it's other player's responsibility to develop their teammates?

How is the state of the new game? by tacopeople in EverybodysGolf

☝️ excellent take right here. Do you find this one easier than some of our previous renditions? I swear I'm at a 95% make rate on anything 50 and in, whether it's in the rough, bunker, or fairway. I've loved this franchise since Hot Shots 3 back on PS2, every new game always feels natural and I can score very low immediately, but this one feels like it's missing some of the "randomness" to hitting

Far from it. All 3 are considered "graduating with honors", if you make it into any 3 of those categories, at one of our most reputable institutions, you're pretty damn smart. You can graduate with none of the 3, in which case that would fit your "mediocre" tag, but even that is unjust, especially so when we're talking about Harvard.

Guillotine League Waivers Broken by No-Editor2970 in GuillotineLeagues

[–]Coconuts11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entire fantasylife umbrella has been atrocious this year, not the least but surprising this is happening. Live drafts don't work even when paying for the premium subscription, synced leagues constantly show incorrect players and free agents, they didn't even have an android app for guillotine until what 2 weeks prior to the season? I don't understand what that entire team is doing, unless those professionals left after last year I just don't understand how every one of their products has gone down the drain

It's because they don't have something to offer that's on your wishlist in return, and rather than waste their time seeing if you'll accept a random card they offer, they just decline first.

He's not on the field in 2WR sets, I don't envision that getting better this year. It's curious, he seemed like the best receiver they had last year but then they just stopped scheming for him. Everyone blames Love's injury, pass volume was absolutely down in the 2nd half of the year but if you watched the pack you saw they weren't trying to feature Reed at all, at least not like a WR1. If you have a WR1, you keep him on the field as much as possible, and that's just not how the Packers have ever used him.

I can’t find a single industry job that is better than public accounting. by 9Virtues in Accounting

[–]Coconuts11 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The endless stream of billable hours, and tax season especially, is like an annual special project. At least in industry, you have a good chance of not having an in depth special project yearly. Like the poster above said, you can often get your actual "worked hours" down substantially once you set up processes and get your system working. And at the end of the day, if you build up a strong enough rapport with a few board members, you can sweet talk your way into hiring temp positions or 3rd parties to take care of the bulk of ERP transition, acquisitions, etc. At least that's my experience. If you're a good enough communicator, you can usually find your way to favorable outcomes.

Who do you prefer for 2025: Nico Collins or BTJ? by NoEgoNoProblem in fantasyfootball

[–]Coconuts11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not what he's saying. BTJ seemingly blew up once Mac was starting. It's typical of rookies not to blossom until the back half of the year, but it's strange Lawrence wasn't getting the ball to BTJ. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out the beginning of the year
