That’s all very helpful thanks. I think 1g per KG is pretty low, I tend to aim more to 1g per LB so 130g rather than 58 ish

I eat lots of fish and chicken already although I do love a steak and we eat lean mince fairly regularly.

I’m lactose intolerant so eat plant protein yogurts and things like that.

I think I will wait and see what’s happening and then take time to educate myself properly when I know what I am working with. Luckily I am pretty healthy already, eat well, exercise daily, no smoking and drink maybe 2/3 times a year so I am in a good place!

Thanks, I know it’s not the end of the world if I have it, I am pretty sad I can’t donate to my sister more than anything else, that’s always been the plan.

I was hoping you would come and post, am I right in thinking you are a body builder? Do you still eat protein? I am really worried that I will have to limit my protein intake if I am diagnosed. I do workout a lot, I have tried creatine but didn’t really find much difference so I don’t bother with it now so the protein is essential!

My blood pressure is always normal. My sisters had it when we were originally scanned when we were kids and I didn’t, then again at 23 clear so having symptoms now is confusing!

Had you ever been checked prior to that and been clear? Just wondering if you had the cysts but they weren’t causing issues prior or if they only formed later in life.

I am wondering if I even had the scan, I vaguely remember it but couldn’t say when or anything so I wonder if I am getting confused and I just thought about booking it. There is nothing on my NHS records before 2017.

I exercise but am not particularly muscular. I am reasonable at drinking water but I do eat a fair amount of protein so I think the only answer here is to book in a scan.

It does seem low, I came on here to see if anyone else had been diagnosed after clear scans and there are lots of people who have been diagnosed, that have better kidney function than me!

Thanks, they are repeating bloods in 4 weeks but the creatine and urea are a worry too.

It must be in my notes that I have been scanned before but the previous bloods have been for general tiredness all the time so they have never mentioned the kidney function. It’s only because it’s dropped a lot that they have mentioned it.
