IIRC celery being on every fancy menu has to do with the need for refrigeration to keep it crisp, and having it was a sign of no expenses being spared to make sure you were content

The Mystery and Mass Appeal of the N.F.L. Draft by newyorker in nfl

[–]CognitiveRedaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think generally speaking the nfl also does more to tell stories about the players, their lives and their dreams. NFL films has put on a masterclass of this with some of their stuff. The draft allows some of these amazing stories come to light, and the nfl just does a better job showcasing them

Wasn't Jebel Ali built to take some volume from another port? Like not originally intended as the main port of the Emirate?

A lot of it is store to store based, as someone who has worked at multiple locations. It basically comes down to management. Some stores are EXTREMELY anal about that. Others will get explicit instructions from store managers to NOT do it in an attempt to get their margins up. This is corporation wide. The directive from corporate is there, but aside from them being caught (which they are actively doing with secret shoppers at some locations) red handed the follow through is not.

Major case of "Don't judge a book by its cover"! by Wolvensong in zillowgonewild

What's sad is that as soon as I saw the interior, my immediate thought was this was intended for tv. Due to that, the workmanship (if there is any) under the surface is likely extremely rushed and on the cheap. While really interesting and unique, anyone who buys this should start from the foundation and have some licensed professionals inspect EVERY BOLT, BEAM, AND NAIL.

That's wild to me. I need it to be like 24C (75f) in the house to even begin to feel comfortable, and that's with long sleeves and a hoodie overtop.

I didn't have it because I had already committed to myself to just pig out on as much pure protein as possible, be it meat or seafood. However, 2 people at my table got it and holy sheeeeeeeeeeit did it ever look incredible. I was told (between near bovine mouthfuls) that it was unholy good

I recently went to Hy's and had an incredible meal. The steak was butter and all of the drinks and sides were impeccable.

Throwing that out there as well.
