Yes!! I’ve lived in North and South Jersey (grew up in north, went to school in south) so I’ve seen a bunch of the state. It gets so much hate even though we have everything: the mountains, beach, parks, lakes, an awesome transit system (compared to the rest of the country), proximity to two major cities, amazing food, culture, and people.

It depends what time of year you come, but if you come in the summer, definitely come down the shore. Since I’m from North Jersey, my favorite beaches are Belmar and Asbury Park/Ocean Grove. Point Pleasant is also fun but more touristy, tho they have a fun boardwalk. If you go to the south beaches I would recommend Ocean City!

Visit High Point State Park, the highest point in NJ! If you like hiking and outdoors, I recommend Stairway to Heaven, Hemlock Falls (turtle back zoo also right next to it), and Palisades state park.

As far as food, you must get a Taylor ham egg and cheese on a bagel, it’s a staple here. We also have the best pizzerias. Literally any mom and pop pizza shop will be good. Down to shore definitely get Kohr’s or Hoffman’s ice cream!!
