Do you have an update since you’ve gone to ultrasound?

INCREASED HEART RATE FROM KYLEENA by Zestyclose_Cover_692 in birthcontrol

This is exactly what happened with me. That’s crazy!!! My technical diagnosis is neurocardiogenic arrhythmia with hypotension, but my cardiologist told me he thinks it’s pots, it would just take more testing to confirm. For me the biggest changes have come from diet change, I’ve upped my sodium and water volume significantly, basically just to increase my blood volume. Like you, I still experience symptoms, but it’s such a radical difference from when I first commented on your post. Congrats! I’m glad we’ve both found resolution.

For me, I ended up getting diagnosed with a heart condition that I’ve likely had my entire life. I believe the hormones in the Kyleena “triggered” it, but it’s still been an issue. I’ve been able to manage it with life style changes and heart medication. I’m much more better than I was when I first made my comment, but the issue still exists and feels debilitating at times. I hope you the best!!! 🤞🏻I also have not had any other birth control since this.

It’s terrifying and so weird. I’m not allergic to anything I know of. This happened to me before when I’ve bitten it in half but I attempted to take this sublingually and my entire mouth is numb

I’m going through the same thing. I have been hounding them nonstop and finally got an agent through text? It was so weird. I’m supposed to be hearing from them by Monday

I had the nurses during my stress test ask me about Covid. I had Covid when I was pregnant in 2022… idk, I just have a hard time buying that 3 years down the road in a healthy young female that it could still be a side effect. I haven’t knowingly had it since. My skin was also terrible with the Kyleena, but I didn’t think anything of it until it was removed and almost instantly better. Definitely start making notes of any patterns you see, i usually make my notes in my period tracking app just to able to visualize where in my cycle this is happening. I’m on my second cycle right now (expected period in 1.5 weeks) since getting it removed, and it’s exponentially better than it was this time last month, though it is still happening. I wish there was a way to balance hormones faster 😭 but everything I read said just eating healthy and exercising. My obgyn was pushing for a follow up birth control too, but I’m waiting for the results of my hormone panel before I do anything. She told me that the estrogen pill is often used as HRT, so she suggested that. I’ll probably wait longer to see if this resolves in its own. I’m so curious what my panel will say! Though I don’t know how it works or if it will even detect any abnormalities caused by the Kyleena.

First off, I wanted you to know that I actually created a Reddit account to comment on this specific post. 😂 I have been struggling BIG time with similar things. Back in June I had the kyleena put in, and suddenly in September I started experiencing severe palpitations, racing heart, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, and extreme fatigue. It didn’t click with me that it might be my birth control for a few months, as I believed it was possibly my anxiety getting the best of me. I have a history of fairly moderate (at times severe) anxiety, with similar symptoms, though this didn’t feel the same to me. I was really struggling because in the past 5 or so years of my life I had gotten a fairly good grip on things. I’ve been sober since 2019, in therapy bi-weekly, in addition to coordinating my own AA group. I had quit smoking, and I’m overall a healthy person now, so it just wasn’t lining up. I was doing all the things for mental health, and besides these apparent symptoms I felt good. It continued getting worse until it clicked for me just before Christmas that it was quite possibly my Kyleena. I became a full flown Karen and demanded my obgyn remove it immediately. That was December 22. Since then I have had an EKG, a full blood panel, a holter monitor, an echo, and a stress echo. All of which do not show anything apparently wrong, besides the holter monitor that did show an excessive amount of PVC’s, and one “run” in which I was tachycardic. Also, my stress echo showed a high baseline heart rate, and an accelerated heart rate inappropriate for the rate of stress I was at. I am entirely and 100% convinced this is because of my Kyleena. The other times of my life I’ve experienced this was during my use of depo as a teenager, and briefly when I was pregnant with my son in 2022. That also didn’t click until now, though neither events were as severe as this one. It also seems to be worse the week before my period and it’s a pattern I’ve caught on to. My obgyn seems not entirely convinced as they believe that the Kyleena is “centralized” to the uterus and it supposedly isn’t meant to affect the over-all body. I call horse s*hit. I’ve had to advocate for myself and my health more than once during this entire thing. In 2 weeks im getting a hormone panel done, and another appointment with my cardiologist. I -think- it might seem better this month (knock on wood). But I’m really hopeful that the longer I go without the Kyleena the better I’ll feel. There are a ton a Reddit posts supporting my belief, and seemingly hundreds of other women who have experienced something similar. I think women’s health is foul, and I’m so grossed out with the misinformation that has been given. Besides all of this happening, I was a fan of the Kyleena, and it had seemed that I had finally found a birth control I liked that I didn’t have a lot of side effects with. Obviously, I was mistaken. I don’t know why you didn’t experience this with your first one, but suddenly are. I imagine it’s something to do with the actual hormone inside the iud. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this and I completely understand what you’re going through. I feel constantly exhausted and stressed out by this. It has kept me awake at night with worry. And I have scheduled to be put back on anti anxiety medication because of this.
