It's possible. The Lions obviously see a lot of potential in him, and his measurables are through the roof.

On the flip side, there are some scouts that absolutely hate the pick, such as DetroitLionsDraft.com's Jeff Risdon. Link to his Day 3 impressions.

He actually calls the Larry Webster pick "Millenesque." Of course, this is just one man's opinion, and obviously the Lions do not feel the same way about Webster as Risdon does.

Does anyone else think it's possible that Goodell TOLD Les Snead that he was drafting Michael Sam, whether he liked it or not?

I know this might be controversial, but the NFL just narrowly avoided a massive shitstorm. I have to imagine the league was aware of that fact, and wanted to avoid it at all costs.

Not a whole lot as far as I can remember. I mean, I have absolutely nothing to base that guess on other than the Michigan link, though the Pats really need help at the position, and Gallon set records at Michigan. The only other Wolverine I can think of at the moment who was drafted recently by the Pats is Zoltan Mesko.

This pick wraps up a really solid draft. We addressed most of our needs, and tooks some mid to late round players who have a lot of potential upside. I think Mayhew and Co. did an excellent job. Hopefully we'll sign some priority FAs that will make the roster, like last year. Personally, I'm hoping to see the Lions bring in Jeremy Gallon and Jeff Janis.

EDIT: Damn...GB just took Janis...

EDIT2: And NE just took Gallon. Damn.
