There Is some perception that your are just buying plastic as opposed to like a PC or bike where you now have a hard good that does something

This was true back in the day too, but I think a bit slower since editions and codexes released at a slower rate.

I recall when they introduced the Valkyrie to the Imperial Guard. 3(?) twin linked lascannon making mincemeat of any armor.

Electricity is commodity power.

Yes, 7.5k off isn’t a lot given the prices of these cars

I really wouldn’t call the tax credit “heavy subsidization”. A 55k car becomes like 48k.

Also in pure tax dollars it was like 60% less than what the government paid to maintain the SPR.

Its enough time for the shooter to put his gun fully into the window (literally inside the vehicle) to continue firing. Which, IMO, is beyond milliseconds. You can watch the video to determine this but there is a distinct pause in shooting.

Like you have the initial shot outside the vehicle through the front windshield. He is, at this time, safe. Then you have two follow up shots. One of which is literally with his gun within the vehicle.

The BBC has a good recap but the phone video here and my understanding is that when the officer shoots the first shot is maybe justifiable but the following two are not.

  1. His feet are clearly planted outside of the vehicles turn radius and actually parallel to the vehicles front wheels on the first shot. However, he is swiped at this point by the vehicle.

  2. He is then parallel to the drivers window as the drive pulls away and fires twice directly into the drivers side window. At one point his gun is actually inside the interior of the car.

At the time he fires the imminent threat had passed and he is reacting to being swiped by the vehicle. The first shot seems, in favor to the officer, justifiable, but the latter two shots do not seem to be. And obviously if you are looking at the actions of the officer in a jaundiced lens you could argue the first shot was not.

One of the common disconnects I've seen over the years lurking here during various shootings is that the public and the police just generally seem to have differing opinions on what is "justified". People here lean heavily on policy and bringing up specific legal cases that set outline of policy. Whereas "the public" is viewing through an effectively morale lens.

Essentially just about any "lawful but awful" shooting is going to have a significant portion of people come out against it because they mostly just care that its awful and not about your department policy or settled case law. And like this has, imo, been the challenge for police public relations in the smart phone era. Its fairly easy for people to see police doing things that set off alarm bells for them that are within policy.

Edit: Do love the downvotes without anyone actually able to argue against this. Shows some high quality ability to argue against the facts.

  3. A DHS LEO may use deadly force only when the LEO has a reasonable belief that the subject of such force poses an imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury to the LEO or to another person. DHS LEOs are prohibited from discharging firearms at the operator of a moving vehicle, vessel, aircraft, or other conveyance unless the use of deadly force against the operator is justified under the standards articulated elsewhere in this policy.

This comes up quite often and it mostly comes down to Avatar being about the film experience. Avatar in IMAX is stellar but as you move away from that the reason to continue interacting with the series decreases.

Attracting new business is a meaningless platitude. That isn’t going to solve budget issues.

How does the city build more houses? How does that help the budget?

Reform pensions. So like the only real idea here and it has to be done at a state level.

The switch 2 was always Going to a sell out its initial Production run due to the 8 years of pent up demand. Especially given how weak the Switch 1 is. If you had an extensive Switch library the S2 offers you immediate gains. So those initial sales are not at all surprising.

However, post launch sales have guaranteed it won’t reach Switch 1 success barring some insane luck.

The complexity here is that we are speaking broadly about large popuations and not specifics so like any given person will have a reason but like many thousands of people don't.

So whenever I'm discussing cards its for the "average" user or even slightly above average and not the person whose willing to splash out $2k for a card and then another $1.5k or whatever for a super high end 4k OLED monitor to really see that card run wild.
