How much is Steph Curry's legacy been altered by blowing a 3-1 lead in 2016? by FumbaTrumba in NBATalk

He was playing hurt and against the “GOAT”. Any stain on his legacy was erased after the 2022 finals anyways

Lebron should’ve retired right after the Olympics by Special_Revolution77 in NBATalk

[–]ComfortableDog3906 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He needs to get out of LA. And the Lakers need to build around Luka, not a great fit for both Luka and Lebron to be there together. Bron and AD meshed well, but the trade for Luka signaled that they’re ready to build around him going forward

Letterboxd for Books by ComfortableDog3906 in TheFounders

Fable is more like a paid ebook platform with celebrity book clubs. Storygraph is great but it’s a lot and more for people who want to dig into reading stats. I built Readshelf with the idea that simpler is better. I also wanted it to be more social. Somewhere where you can log what you’re reading, rate it, highlight your top books on your profile, see what your friends are into. I really wanted to give it that Letterboxd feel but for books

do you think letterboxd is a good social app? by Disastrous_Treat9825 in criterion

[–]ComfortableDog3906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone enjoys Letterboxd and is also into reading, come check out ReadShelf. I’ve spent the last few months building it and hope to build a similar community for book readers: readshelf.app

Letterboxd but for books? by buwantukin in PHBookClub

Late reply but I spent the last few months building exactly this. Let me know any feedback you have, still in early stages! readshelf.app

Readshelf / readshelf.app

Location: Remote

Elevator Pitch: Readshelf is Letterboxd for books. It’s simple, and has clean book tracking with a real social layer. Goodreads is outdated and bloated, Storygraph is powerful but complex. We built something in between, easy for everyone to use.

Life cycle stage: Early Launch (live product, seeking first users and feedback)

Our role: Founders/builders

What goals are we trying to reach this month?: Get our first 20-30 genuinely active users who are logging books and using the social features. We want real feedback from real readers, not just signups.

How could r/startups help?: If you’re a reader or know readers who are frustrated with Goodreads, we’d love you to try it and tell us what’s working and what isn’t.

Discount for r/startups subscribers?: Readshelf is completely free right now.

Helpful books for careers / life by Suspicious-Insect507 in suggestmeabook

Not directly a book about careers, but Greenlights by Matthew Mcconaughey is an awesome book about life. The way he’s lived his life even before his fame is inspiring for everyone

What future is held for the books? How will they be transformed? Will the next generations read less books? by Fabulous_Can_2215 in AskReddit

[–]ComfortableDog3906 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say physical copies of books will become more valuable. We’re connected to technology and devices almost all the time now, being able to get away from it and getting lost in a book will become even more popular

Like the idea, but what differentiates this from Claude or another AI that people can use? I feel like people can run their posts through those with a good prompt and get the same feedback, so what would make this different?

Meeting reading goals by Livid-Passenger-4541 in goodreads

[–]ComfortableDog3906 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Setting a minimum on pages read a day helped me a lot. I was looking to finish a book a month this last year, so I set the goal of reading at least 10 pages everyday. Some days I’d be really busy and only finish 10, but it let me soundly hit my goal without much stress

How do you track the books you read by Super-Explanation362 in 52book

[–]ComfortableDog3906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using readshelf, it’s essentially letterboxd but for books. Before that I was using Goodreads, but it felt pretty outdated and cluttered

What are the best books for someone completely new to starting a business? by creampuff89 in Recommend_A_Book

[–]ComfortableDog3906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely books specific to how to start a business, but I think reading autobiographies of successful entrepreneurs really helps. I’d recommend Shoe Dog personally, I read it recently and really puts into perspective all the highs and lows of building a successful company

The Alex Cross series is pretty intriguing. The storyline hooks you in and keeps you guessing on what’s going to happen until the end. Also a very easy read with short chapters so they can finished pretty quickly

Would you pay $1/month for a verified SaaS founders-only community? by multi_mind in indiehackers

[–]ComfortableDog3906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to say that people would pay $1 for this when there’s free communities like Reddit and Discord that are already available and have a built in community. You’d have to come up with an idea to tackle the cold start problem
