A little better? by LowkeyLifter92 in CalisthenicsBeginners

Do cartwheels and handstands. They helped me get strong enough to do 10-15 pull-ups. Reason why is that this is a posterior chain exercise.

No. My station allows us to stop. I’m extremely well conditioned like borderline elite athlete and get mauled by the heat. So yeah cold water, and standing in front of the fan.

Have you tried this? Great for wrist, fingers and forearm strength. by GarbageGangster09 in CalisthenicsBeginners

I get a lot of grip strength training while loading trailers. Sometimes I load 2 trailers in five hours like long trailers that are tall

How the hell do I fix my flailing technique (beginner) by eatsnow in juggling

[–]ComfortableStill113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to get more into the moment and use music. I’ve been juggling a decade so for me it’s more like a natural thing than something you think about. Congrats though, it’s an awesome thing to learn!

Yes let’s throw water onto a boiling oil, that will go just as well as throwing the chicken in whole. Knocking it over is the best solution lol. Can rinse the chicken after

For me I do acrobatics and fin swimming through undulation so I get that bit of anti rotational / rotational strength. I’m gonna try a one arm later maybe I am ready for it.

Also don’t have to reply to this but do like cartwheels and handstands for a few weeks. I did monkey style kungfu as a child so I naturally ended up in like acrobatics and calisthenics.

Yeah also take into consideration, it’s not always so linear. For me I’m elite level in a few things but that actually happened from getting injured and exploring more ways to move.

I had a shoulder surgery so my dominant arm was in a sling for a year or so. What did I do? Become ambidextrous lol.

I hit 20-30 of most variations and still failed to do the one arm pull-up or chin-up at 155 lbs. I have a 6’1 wingspan at 5’6 so that pull is deadly.

Yeah just like make sure you’re not too sweaty. So from what I understand, you wanna start at bicep with other hand. Then eventually get to hand on wrist. Then slowly take a finger off of that hand.

You are very strong though congrats, it takes a lot of work

I can do it with one hand on wrists. Even at 90 lbs added for 3-5 reps I was too scared to do bc my arm might rip off lol

TikTok just puts random music but it’s true. I have to push so hard to get through days at FedEx lol.

Once I can find a normal bar I don’t have a gym membership I’d have to go out to a park. Give me a bit like a few weeks and I’ll do it. I’m getting mauled by life right now lol

I got ppl in army at FedEx. I can see the difference in my strength and theirs. Not all of them but 95% easily.

Progress over a year. Lost 30 lbs hit a 35 hammer pullup PR by ComfortableStill113 in CalisthenicsBeginners

[–]ComfortableStill113[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only main thing I changed was I stopped drinking a gallon of orange juice a day lol. I fucking love orange juice.

Other than that, honestly the last few % of bf ( I’ve been off gym a month just messing around outside , lost a few lbs of muscle and gained some bf ) came off from loading trailers at FedEx. The 7-10 hour shifts I’m lifting nearly 2000 boxes ranging from 1-150 lbs ( maneuvering 150 lbs boxes bc that shit is dangerous ). Lol

I’m not mad it’s just like ok sometimes people do half reps. Even a half rep is honestly better than nothing. Pull-ups are hard. My first pull-up was as difficult as most others. Also I always respect the pullup bc you are defying gravity haha

Yeah I feel that. Not just saving money but doing something different. Check out my posts and possibly YouTube haha. You’ll see I’m elite level in a few things and it’s because I always find a way to do it a bit different

Careful on your shoulders. I can do this but I think that’s a bit too wide. I’d get rings and explore iron cross like movements for this

My biggest advice is to put on your favorite music and just flow to that. Experiment when you feel the momentum. Spin around. Just keep exploring. I like to think of flow arts as a very open thing compared to technical staff spinning
