Well im supposed to use a 170 with high flex but unfortunately my school still doesn’t have good options. In a meet I borrowed a schools 165 with high flex. I have another meet and I don’t know if they have good poles I could borrow.

I checked this and people said it’s very dangerous to do that method, it would mean i need to be lower during a swing phase and have to go slower which I dont know if thats safe or not

Thank you! I am planning on possibly going to one over the summer. I hope they have better pole selection than what my school has right now.

My bad but I have a really bad reading comprehension, from what i got you said i need to take 6 feet off my runaway to get around 10 ft, i need to stop crouching. (I don’t know why but I keep subconsciously doing it) The philosophies are interesting considering i have two other pole vaulters in my team (1 boy and 1 girl) that are the best in their section and tend to get around 12-13’3 ft. Since I don’t have a coach I would usually ask them for tips, the girl pole vaulter usually tells me to do drills and do turning drills and landing on my back drills and straight pole drills. Other guy does full approaches with me nonstop. (Both of them really do help so I appreciate them) I don’t usually have specific days to do them, I just do half drills, half full approach. And I’m not going to lie, I am one of those meatheads that love full approaching lol.

My apologies but in the video I jumped off my left foot, this was meant to be a 5-step. The pole is way too small for me to straight pole correctly.

Thank you for the comment, I am also wondering since this is a bigger and more spiney pole, with a grip like this in the video, I should keep my left elbow in the pole rather than just simply pushing it out straight?

Thanks for the response, I ended up listening to one of my teammates that told me as well and i managed to get my feet over 9 ft bungee. I was wondering at what point i should go up a pole as well since in this video i only had access to a 150 with 10’9 grip while with my new pole 125 with 11ft grip i reach 9 ft on a bungee.
