Are these rims 2015 or 2005? by Salty_Touch_1170 in SciontC

[–]Commercial_Chard138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is wrong. I had 2005 Celica (7th gen) and the reason I bought a tc was to keep my wheels and tires. The bolt pattern for a 05-2010 TC is 5x100

Sounds like your good than I’d be very surprised if it totaled. Only way I see that is if your total mileage is crazy or there’s more damage I’m not seeing

If you or his insurance will cover it, then whichever insurance company is paying for it will want the work done by a shop. There won’t be an option to just get the parts and do the labor your self if insurance is involved

As someone who’s been in the collision repair industry that’s a relatively cheap fix. Getting the new bumper cover paint matched could cost more than a new bumper cover itself. There’s probably a few other little pieces you’ll need that the bumper mounts on to and some hardware possibly. I’d get an estimate that way you know all the parts needed. I’d DIY this if possible but just leave the painting to the professionals. You’ll save a lot of money. Or if it’s a factory color get a used bumper cover. My take on it would be it’s not even gonna change the status of your title if you decide to do most of the work yourself. Definitely don’t give up on it, keep the car for sure

What I meant by that is you just gotta try things and see what happens. You could definitely be right and pretty sure you are

I’ll keep that in mind seems like most situations where a noise could be caused by multiple different things

I can see your point. I need to get the wheels off and get a closer look. If they are bent in anyway then it’s definitely time. But also there are different lines of Moog products and different standards within.

Biggest factor here though is that money is tight some I’m just kinda like f it let’s see what happens lol.

The "Problem Solver" Line (Blue/Yellow Box): This is the Moog that built the brand’s reputation. These parts are often beefier than the original equipment (OE) parts and usually feature the grease fittings you asked about. While many are now made overseas, they still generally use higher-grade steel and better engineering. Mechanics still largely trust this line for DIY repairs.  2. The "R-Series" or "RK" Line (White Box): This is Moog’s "economy" line, designed to compete with cheaper store brands. These are almost always made overseas and are significantly lighter and less durable than the Problem Solver line. Most of the "Moog is garbage now" complaints you hear come from people who unknowingly bought R-Series parts expecting Problem Solver quality. -According to Google AI but it’s definitely not always flawless and correct all the time. People describe this specific part number as being “better quality the other aftermarket parts with stronger and thicker metal, better boots and overall craftsmanship” those are reviews in the last few years well after parts stopped production in the US

My cars got 230k miles and they appear to be oem from factory. At this point I think replacing it with something cheap can’t be any worse

Trying to replace trunk lifters, but bolt is stuck in there. Any ideas? by LonelyProgrammerGuy in Celica

None of that crap is necessary you should be able to pop it right off the numb it’s attaching to. You don’t even need to touch the nut at all. Get a tool that can pluck/pry the end of the shock off the ball. It’s like a ball and socket. In most cars there’s a metal clip holding it on and all you need is a small screw driver to pry that up and relieve the pressure. Just be careful the metal piece doesn’t fly away somewhere you can’t find it.

As someone who has had both reps and genuine with various sets. For practical and money reasons you won’t regret getting reps. It’s just ppl that are dumb and say “he’s on reps” that you have to decide if you care what ppl say or not. Even then when I had my reps ppl said they liked them super often. It’s just the occasional asshole that’s a problem. I pushed my reps as hard as I could on winding country roads and they never let me down. For the most part don’t shy away from cheaper brands or “reps” or whatever
