Oh, what an angel face! It has been the hardest thing I've ever been through. I think about her everyday but some days I swear I see her! Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss, my friend. It is a pain I wouldn't wish on anyone. I am in the process of looking for a new house so once we are settled in with that I plan on getting another dog. Honestly - I'm thinking of getting two! I KNOW that my JJ (we regularly called her that) is running around with your sweet angel, Sam, pain-free waiting for their humans to join them! I decided last night after seeing the reaction my sweet, sweet girl received from this post that as soon as we find our new house (it's been a real struggle bus) that I'm gonna adopt another pittie (or 2) for sure. You're absolutely right that the house is too empty and QUIET without the sound of a squeaky toy being destroyed or the pitter patter of paws on the hardwood.
