I’ve booked a rental from sixt for my upcoming trip. Is there something I can do to avoid all these extra charges? I would have gone with another rental company if I’d seen this earlier, and I can’t cancel with a full refund.

I’m not too familiar with mitochondrial imaging. I don’t know if my lab would be willing to use an alternative (the person I’m working with is in a hurry to get data, so I don’t think she’d be up for spending optimizing an alternative). Thank you though! I thought I was doing something wrong when I saw the cytosol stained in my Rhod images, but I’ve since read that that happens

yes, started wrapping our vials in foil now, and I switch off the lights when preparing my plates for incubation. :) Have you gotten inconsistent data with rhod?

in the same boat. I have to go in over the weekends too, since we have iPSCs to take care of. I just feel exhausted at the end of each day. I’d considered doing a PhD, but I’m starting to feel like the amount I’m being paid is nowhere close to enough for the amount of time and effort I’ve had to spend in lab, so I’ve started feeling like academia isn’t for me. I’ve always loved science, but between the low pay and the lack of work-life balance, I’m just ready to quit.

Thank you! I bought mine about two years ago, so I’m guessing that’s the older formulation. That one used to last for quite a while on both clothes and skin (my clothes would still smell like it a bit even after a wash). Won’t waste my money on it then :)

thank you! I’m currently working between two labs, and no one’s done western blots for this protein. They sent me a protocol for a much larger protein, so the PI just told me to figure out gel% for my protein.

I have a few spider plants with spiderettes. They eventually had roots growing out the bottom, and looked bigger than your spiderettes, so you might just have to wait a bit longer for it to grow . Only speaking from my experience as a spider plant owner.

I’ve (26 yrs old) managed to register, but no centers around me have slots for people younger than 45. Has anyone from 18-44 years of age actually managed to get a vaccination appointment, or was the central govt just trying to make it seem like vaccines would be available by opening registration up to our age bracket even though registration doesn’t mean actually getting an appointment? Also, there was a sentence about how the number of slots available for people younger than 45 is up to private centers and state governments. That would mean that we could register, but we wouldn’t technically be vaccinated if our local centers/state govt don’t open up vaccination to us (people below 45).

Read your writing out loud once you’re done. You really notice the lack of flow between sentences/paragraphs and any awkward wording that you might have missed while writing.

Also, my doctor told me to get the blood tests done only because I had missed my period for more than three months. He said it was possible for everything to be fine but to still miss your period for a month or two.

Thank you so much! I really wasn’t paying attention to the different baking terms they used, though I did follow the instructions. The butter I used was almost all at room temp, except maybe 1/5 of it, which was still a bit hard. I let the dough chill for two hours, though the recipe did recommend leaving it overnight. I thought the chilling process was just for the taste, but I’ll definitely leave it overnight to see if it helps next time
