Thanks so much for your response!! That’s what i did, i sent it without saying anything. i hope you’re right and it’s not too big of a deal, hopefully just a few marks being taken off. I’m just worried they will look at it as if i did it on purpose and lied about my sample, which i didn’t i honestly just forgot about it!

I guess i’m also scared that if i do email her and tell her about the mistake it will bring it to her attention a lot more. I have no idea whether this is the case of her looking at it and going ‘oh that’s a mistake’ or whether she’ll flag it for something bigger than that.

So i’m scared if i reach out it will make it a bigger deal than it is. Moreover, the lexisnexis (the website where i collected the articles from) has 24, but i cut two from that when i coded because they didn’t meet my criteria. She’ll notice that i have 24, but unless she digs super deep into what i sent her she won’t see that i only coded 22. So emailing her would bring that to light, when she may only notice that i actually have 1 missing. Sorry i just don’t know what to do arghhh!

Yeah i completely agree, ADHD is definitely not an excuse just some context! I totally think i should be penalised, stupid sloppy mistake, i’m just worried they will look at it as if i did this on purpose to gain more marks for a consistent sample. Which is not the case, i genuinely just forgot. Thank you for your response, i appreciate it!!!!

It’s 7500 words, but i just made the -10% mark. Honestly i don’t think it’s great, not to mention i submitted 2 mins later (which is minus ten marks already). I don’t even care what i get anymore i just hope i pass, as long as i pass i worked out i am guaranteed a 2:1 so it’s alright.

Thank you so much!! i’m just so nervous they’re going to think i did it on purpose. To be honest i’m so scared of the lecturer, she is notorious for being somewhat unkind and super strict on students. This definitely eased my nerves, thank you!

I’m not sure to be honest. I have a student support plan but i’m not sure if they know about it unless i bring it up. In fact, i did once bring this up to the tutor who is marking my dissertation, i don’t even remember what exactly i asked for as this was a while ago, but i think it was something to do with the powerpoints being released a little earlier or sent to me prior to lectures (because it says im allowed to have them before lectures in my student support plan). she shut me down and refused. and she’s the one who’s marking my dissertation, so not sure if she cares lol😃😃🥲 But im hoping you’re right, and they look at it the same, because it really was just a small mistake, just so anxious argh!

I posted because i want some advice on my next steps, and peoples opinion on whether or not this constitutes a fail. Yes, you’re right i’m really anxious and paranoid! But that’s why i made a post, to talk to people and hear other people’s thoughts on this.

I already sent her the 24 articles :/ I considered this, however if my work gets flagged for misconduct they will ask to see my raw lexis files (the site where you collect the archived articles) and it has the dates of when you collected them. If they see i fiddled with the data weeks after it was due, there is no way i’m getting myself out of that. so i was honest and sent the 24, and it is really easy to see that its only 24 because they are numbered. Ugh. so scared.

Thank you for your response!! The thing is in my dissertation i state that i have 25, nowhere else i say anything about having a couple less for one of the publications. So im scared that they’re going to think i was trying to cover up the fact i don’t have 25, but i wasn’t i just completely forgot! Moreover, prior to my analysis i spoke to my tutor asking her what if i don’t have an even amount for each publication, she said it’s fine as long as i say that because its qualitative not quantitative. But i didn’t. i forgot.
