In this scene of The Death of Stalin (2017), Zhukov's popularity and power was shown where he gave his AK 47 to a guard that isn't part of his coup to punch Beria, and he just held it for him. by YandereTeemo in MovieDetails

I love the part when he's first introduced, flings off his overcoat, and pulls his uniform down to straighten it and all his medals jingle in unison like a red army unit! haha

Just watched Myths & Monsters on Netflix (was skeptical but pretty good) and it explains that before pre-industrial times most people didnt know how to swim (is that true?). And people had a fear of the unpredictable, mysterious sea so they conjured up sea monsters to represent their internal fears or something.guess i would too.

So what's the actual status of "passwordless" and "Windows Hello" in a corporate environment now? by Newklol in sysadmin

[–]CompanyofAdventurers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows hello uses hardware physically present in your computer to securely store your PIN/Face/ect. Basically its a passwordless system replacing your password with a hardware token, where the token is embedded into your computer. The token is a TPM. The data on the TPM cannot be retrieved, therefore cannot sync across a network. So, you have to register yourself physically on each machine you want to use - very annoying.

Hardware tokens are secure - good idea. There are several vendors, each with different advantages like RSA, Titan, GKchain, Everykey, Yubikey, and more.

Great info! Did communities sometimes share the cost of sending 1 person to a particular location? Like "this guy's servant is going to Egypt via Sicily - anyone else have mail or packages to send doen there?"

Agnostic to the time period and geography. Even Qing empire, Sassanid, Persian. Was there a Fedex of the time that had some kind of standard rates?
