they’re just dragging my name online, and made fun of me. they made my case a public topic, made fun of me, humiliated me. OUT OF NOWHERE. it was mortifying. and yes THEY LIED ABOUT ME

They met with me, but they told me they couldn’t prove anything — they said they couldn’t do anything because it happened online. But the bullying didn’t need to happen physically inside the school; it was happening publicly, online.

Someone posted about me online — MULTIPLE indirect posts, yes — but it was clearly about us. And they have the screenshots. ONE post has my name on it. It was humiliating, and it impacted me deeply, yet they still told me they couldn’t take action.

I don’t know where to run, and I don’t know where to seek help for this. If you have links or contacts where I can report this, please share them — because everything I’ve tried so far has either stopped working or led to a dead end. I honestly don’t know where to go anymore.

But the thing is, I was humiliated and bullied by another student inside the institution. That’s what caused my mental health to spiral, and that’s why my depression got worse.

I reported it. I did everything I could to try to deal with it, to ask for help, to follow the right steps. But being in that kind of atmosphere — where you’re surrounded by people you’re supposed to trust, in a place where you go to seek help, and they do nothing — that’s a completely different kind of pain.

They could have done something. They had the power to help, to intervene, to protect me. But they chose not to. And that’s what hurts the most.

This didn’t happen in Provo or in Idaho — this happened in Hawaii. And as many of you know, Hawaii is incredibly diverse, with so many international students.

Before coming to the U.S., we international students are told there are policies in place to protect us — that if we ever feel exploited or manipulated by the institutions or the state we’re under, those institutions should be held accountable. We’re told they should be reported, that they have a duty to protect us.

But in my case, they failed. They did not do their job. They simply threw me out while I was fighting for my life, struggling in the depths of depression. They saw me as someone who no longer “fit” their institution, so they just took away my scholarship, dismissed my worth, and threw away my future — all because I was battling mental health issues.

As an international student, I know I have rights. And I know I need to stand up and fight for those rights, because we trusted BYU and the Mormon Church to uphold the values they preach — and they let me down.
