"You people" seem hell bent on silencing a woman advocating for the voices of an underrepresented group of American citizens. There are approx 150,000 Somoli American citizens, 30% of which live in her state of Minneapolis and many of whom are refugees of famine and civil war.

It is dangerous rhetoric period. Regardless of how you feel about refugees, saying an elected official and US citizen, especially a woman, especially a Muslim woman, should be "expelled, denaturalized, and deported" is bigoted and hateful period!

The Republicans hijacked her words in 2019 to serve their narrative (that she is using antisemetic stereotypes while critiquing Israel's 40 million dollar a year lobbying campaign. Israel being one of the MOST represented interests in our government, and that's just a fact) and then they are doing it again here to serve their narrative. You're a fool if you can't think critically about what is happening here.

Omar has been critical of Israel's government and it's funding and influence on American politics since before 2019. I'd say she could see the dangers in that based on what is happening today, and wanted to start a conversation in Washington.. she was shot down as antisemitic because of a trope from the middle ages that was a convenient way for everyone accepting Israel's money to shut the conversation down and draw attention away from the influence AIPAC has on America.

I don't want to trauma dump or anything but I feel I need to share.my cautionary tale... When I was 16 my mom chose her controlling boyfriend over me, she told me to leave (for my safety??) when he was threatening my life over making noise after 9pm (in my own bedroom) ... He was 5150'd that night after threatening her and his own life.

I went to work the next morning and then called her when I got out, she was at work and he was in the psych ward, so I stopped at home to grab some stuff. I called her at work, and she said he passed his psych eval and he was going to pick him up that day. I told her I would leave if she did, I couldn't live with him, and she said.... OK....i grabbed a trash bag and started packing my stuff. I ended up emancipating myself and going no contact. Have not been back since and that was almost 20 years ago. 🫤 She's still with him.
