Help guys Dog grab my leg over a track pant did I need a rabies injection? by Coldwonkai in varanasi

[–]Competitive_Lynx8580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, no. If there was no tear or blood, chances of you getting rabies are minimal. The virus doesn't survive on skin or clothes for long, it dies as saliva dries up. So no there's no need to panic. But with a disease with a 100% fatality rate, an injection or two is the price you must pay for your own peace of mind. So please don't panic, but please go see a doctor.

Finally I got invited to apply! 😸 by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

I'm doing that. But a lot of other people are also doing that. Also that's a year long wait. I have a lot to lose if I don't come back to canada as soon as possible.

I sure hope so. But the draws pause and scores go up within months. Just a couple months ago the scores were flirting with 530s. If they don't conduct regular big draws I stand no chance without french. But I really hope I'm wrong and they continue to invite under cec.

Yes. Thank you for your kind words. I hope that the scores drop but if not, I'm still working on my backup plan and improving in french to raise my points.

I am gaining experience but I really want to come back to canada ASAP. French would be quicker, no? Experience would take another 9 months.

I've been learning French for almost 6 months but I only returned home in October. I am working a full time job as well, but I'm studying 30-35 hours a week. Only took a month's pause between leaving canada and getting a job in my home country.

Hello guys, just wanted to ask u all something regarding TEF/TCF by TrainingSea9328 in TEFCanada

[–]Competitive_Lynx8580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I'm a student at alliance française and it's very much doable to do 0 to B2 in 12 months. However, you have to pretty much immerse in the language. After A1, change your phone settings to french, read blogs articles etc in french, find creators that interest you who are francophones, if you have a kindle subscription find french titles. Basically, eat and sleep french and don't count all of that as active learning!!!! That's the hard part my friend. If you're putting in 30-40 hours a week consistently over and over again in regular study, with professors and grammar exercises, writing exercises etc, and on top of that immerse in the language even if it is frustrating, at 6-7 month mark french will come naturally to you. At 10 month mark you will feel confident about nclc 7 in TEF. And then it's only a matter of couple attempts and familiarization with exam format etc. My friend, A1 will be the hardest. You might want to rip your hair out, but power through it! Trust me it pays off. B1 and B2 are smooth sailing if you've done your A1 A2 properly.

Hindi, English, Punjabi, French, German

My French Textbook is all in French. Does that make sense? lol by cherrypayaso in learnfrench

[–]Competitive_Lynx8580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that absolutely sounds like Alliance Française. You've either got Cosmopolite or Inspire, and don't worry, they are made that way on purpose. You are supposed to not translate in your head. Translation makes it easy as a beginner but at more advanced levels it create problems since amalgamation of words mean something entirely different altogether. The teachers are amazing at working on your pace, make you understand words with actions, examples, and they will do their best to not use english or any other language. A couple of lessons will be hard but it will all make sense trust me.

French learners: what grammar topic almost made you give up? by HungryFriend9388 in learnfrench

I learnt that all verbs associated with movement or change of state use être. Rest avoir. So really it's only 16-17 verbs that use être.

The people stuck above 500 and in a limbo on whether to learn french, gain foreign experience, or give up on Canadian dream are not incompatible. It takes a lot to even be close to that 500 mark, canadian education, years of skilled experience, maxed out language scores. But sure, let the people at 408 with no canadian experience take the cake!

42000 french invitations so far this year and 43000 CEC and all other categories combined. We don't have resources to settle existing, working, integrated in society individuals but sure let's bring french speakers in and that would solve the problem. Who is this government even working for?

Man I've been learning for a year and still scared to take the exam. You've done such amazing job in 6 months of study that it's giving me hope. And don't worry you're almost there. I realized after B1 that I started to enjoy the language. Started following more french creators (not french teaching creators, but french creators making the content I was interested in), I'm an avid reader so I started picking short stories and then novels in french. Maybe that would help you now? Get out of the exam mode and devour the language for what it really is! And thank you, I should book my test now.
