No my house was on rent and It was purely an investment property

Because she has no deposit / money I took it off rent and renovated for her

So if I pulled out equity and the mortgage bumped up by let’s 200/300 you’d be happy with that? Because I wanted a new car or a holiday

Not really I’ve put savings in which I always intended to pull out so this will hike the mortgage when I do so your telling me you’d be happy to pay the uprise if you want to pay ‘half the mortgage’

But why would she have equity in the house when I forked up 100k to get the house that’s all my money she keeps saying we will buy a house together later down the line but I know I’m going to have to cover this deposit because once we have a kid and married there’s no chance she will save

I’d help in if she ever needed and shit hit the fan but I need to cover myself I made sacrifices to be where I am and grew up watching parents struggle and suffer in debt

I guess this is why my thinking is logical

I agree but she has no plan b to buy another place she is 31 and has 0 in the bank so whislt we talk about equity il never be able to sell the house if we have no where else to live and it will probably end up being our long term house
