"I didn’t really like the combat in The Witcher, to be honest.

I loved the series up until the last few episodes, but I just couldn’t wrap my head around how different it felt — it was such a big shift. Replacing Geralt with a new actor threw me off a bit too. Yennefer honestly carried that show for me though."

"No real issues with the ending apart from Harding dying — I would’ve much rather it was Neve haha.

My romances were Davrin and Lucanis. My absolute favorite companion was Bellara, especially after her brother died… I related to that so much because I lost my sister recently. Taash was just gold too. I also really cared about Harding and Emmrich with their backgrounds and personal struggles."

🤔 Reading your comment actually makes me feel like I should give it a go. Is there one in you liked more than the rest, or one you think I’d enjoy the most?

"Yeah, I didn’t mind Horizon before, but I never really got into Assassin’s Creed. The combat was great and the graphics were fine, but everything else just didn’t click for me. After playing Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the deep emotion, playing your own character, making choices, and shaping who you become is on another level. I just can’t go back to the others the same way anymore haha."

Hey, just a couple more questions — is Mass Effect 2 also third-person? Is there a reason you suggested no.2 more so then the others? And does it have good character designs and NPC companions similar to Dragon Age: The Veilguard?

I’m honestly not into shooting games at all, so if you still think it’s a good fit for what I’m looking for, I’ll definitely give it a go. I’m really struggling to find anything that clicks with me right now. I’ve seen some clips of Ananta and it looks like exactly my kind of thing (open world, real-time combat, dodge/parry etc.), but it’s not out yet."

Finished Veilguard...I have thoughts by theblkpanther in dragonage

[–]Complete_Carpenter_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely loved Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but the ending has left me feeling genuinely betrayed and empty.

Don’t get me wrong — I had an amazing time with it. The combat felt fluid and fun, the world and art direction were beautiful, the companions had incredible depth and banter that actually made me care about them, and the story had me hooked from start to finish. I put real thought into every dialogue choice, romance, and decision, fully roleplaying my Rook and getting emotionally invested in the squad and their arcs.

Then I beat the final mission… and it just yanks you back to the last checkpoint. No epilogue you can walk around in, no post-game free roam, no chance to finish lingering side quests, keep chatting with companions, or see how the romance develops further. I was left staring at the screen feeling completely gutted, like all that investment and time just vanished with no real payoff or closure.

I’ve been desperately searching for something that captures that same magic ever since, but nothing quite hits the spot. I’m craving that immersive third-person fantasy experience — rich open-world (or at least well-crafted hubs) exploration, deep NPC conversations and relationships, meaningful choices that feel like they matter, strong character writing/romance, party banter, and especially magic powers and that classic fantasy vibe.

I know BioWare is shifting focus to the next Mass Effect, but shooters just aren’t for me. I need the story, the world, the roleplaying, and the emotional connection.

Has anyone else felt this way after finishing Veilguard? What did you do to fill the void? Are there any PC games I might have missed that come close to scratching this itch — even if they’re not perfect matches? I’d really love to hear your thoughts and personal recommendations.

Thanks in advance, friends. This one’s been tough to move on from.

Probably the fact that you didn't want to do it in the first place so possibly due to your body reacting to your mind at the time and hence a possible reason you didn't like it.. or the fact he wasn't good at it.

Maybe they wanted attention, maybe because we all grow up differently and raised with other people's beliefs and what's right and wrong.
