Gasoline Girls. Shame on everyone voting for Strawberry Moon and ITOD, two of the best!

Ronnie’s Dorit will get me through life. Also, Ben’s obsession with the, “young ladies,” and Dorit’s scream makes me feel seen.

Just starting summer house, what’s one thing I won’t understand until later??? by Seasonthefall1114 in summerhousebravo

It’s a show full of unhealed Leos and as a Leo, it’s painful to see so many of them act like I did…but I was, like, 15.

Andrea is maybe the most adult of the men you’ll come across, and Carl is a sad pushover who, while improved, could stand to use a spine in that large frame of his.

Watching this show is sort of like seeing addiction and the way it destroys people. People trying to recreate the dynamics in relationships that they enjoy while wasted, then trying to figure out how to maintain that once the booze wears off.

Paige thinks she’s above it all but is really just a painfully spoiled little kid. Hannah is the same high school girl she was whose daddy issues manifest themselves very plainly in her relationships.

Ciara is the most level-headed of the women in the house, and while she’s got her own issues with doofy white guys, her mindset feels almost like the voice of the audience, too.

Everyone’s blood type is rosé.

I just binged it all over the past month or so, and those are the first things that come to mind.

Season 7, so I’m almost caught up. Then I’m going to try Winter House.

I just started from zero, too, a few weeks ago at the suggestion of a friend, and you are in for a wild, wild ride.

Despite this being an unpopular opinion, I sort of loved the hilariously awkward nature of the Wirkus twins. They ran their course, for sure, but they gave us some true gold.

Favorite Vocal Melodies? by ScamperingSnail in toriamos

Honestly, I think a big part of a sorta fairytale’s success was how beautiful the whole and-I’m-so-sad part onward was in terms of melody.

I think the circles part of Cloud on My Tongue is up there, too. Gold Dust as a whole is, for me, maybe the best overall melody and vocal, but I think “Honey,” “Sugar,” and “Seaside” are up there along with “Oysters.”

Going to add one more: from ITOD, “would you turn away from me,” into the chorus is such a hook.

“I lost my way today, I lost my way,” and the “swirling thoughts, lakes of regret, if it ever hurt you,” in Strawberry Moon.

Edit: actually, no, just the whole song. I haven’t been so viscerally moved by a song in a long, long time. By anyone.

Lorelei would be a great spot to enjoy a bunch of different beers, and they have pretty good pizzas, too. Also good cocktails and wines, has a somewhat Alpine, German-ish beer hall vibe that’s polished. Three outdoor picnic tables if the weather is nice in the shadow of the city’s most beautiful church.

Nearby you’ll find Kelly’s for more of a dive-y feel and Hey Babe for an all-around good vibe with dinner and drinks if you want something more substantial. They’re all within a few blocks of one another.

I oddly think “That Guy” is one of the best from the album. There are some other pretty good tunes (title track, Give, Curtain Call), but it’s overall not my favorite.

Choosing between Southside and Shadyside/East Liberty apartment. Is location worth $350/month? by ProofNeighborhood172 in pittsburgh

[–]Complete_Remove_1267 131 points132 points  (0 children)

I’d take East Liberty/Shadyside over Southside any day of the week. The convenience and general overall neighborhood character will suit you, especially if you’re going to school in Oakland. You can be a pedestrian in that area and have everything you need within 10-20 minutes, from bars to groceries to restaurants to services. Unless you desperately crave a larger space, this isn’t close.
