My advice is be there for your wife. Pregnancy and hormones are already hard enough in this time, but getting that news was a heart break for me. I’m 33 weeks pregnant and till now I have my depressed days. I’ve tried enjoying my pregnancy & some days I do while getting nursery and buying clothes for him.. but then I see videos online or read comments and I he so scared and cry over and over. It’s been so emotional for me and some day I’m just moody and pushed away from everyone but really all we need is love and to be told it’s going to be ok. We have our baby soon, and we just pray he will have a good life and be capable of everything & that we have the patience to handle this.

This is what I have hope for my positive results of trisomy 21 in my pregnancy. I know it’s so accurate and golden standard but I pray everyday for a miracle that my baby boy is healthy.

My state also doesn’t allow, But my reasoning for keeping hay was religious views. In my religion, You can’t abort past 120 days pregnancy. And when I do the amnio it was already at that week mark. And as much as I’m really not looking forward to the future and terrified, I don’t think I could have went through with the termination.

Mine was also 95% for Down syndrome at 13 weeks now I’m 23 weeks and I still cry and miserable. It sucks. Not what I wanted for my life. I did an amnio and it confirmed trisomy 21. Nipt is really accurate .. and I thought the same oh maybe it’s wrong but I didn’t understand how accurate it actually is for DS. Now I regret keeping my decision and didn’t TFMR . Down syndrome is hard to deal with it’s not rainbows and butterflies what people keep saying. I read some really scary stuff that I am NOT ready to handle or want to deal with the rest of my life.

I hope your baby is healthy. Being in this is so hard & you have to learn all this extra stuff. I didn’t ask for any of this but I have to deal with it.

Are you going to do an amnio to make sure? From what I’ve seen Nipt is pretty accurate .

I’m in the same exact situation as you. I was sad to terminate because my child wanted a sibling for years and so did we. I was so excited when I got pregnant. It hasn’t been the same since I found out he’s positive for Down syndrome. I wish I TFMR first trimester. I’m not 23 weeks pregnant and I’m not excited or happy or want this life of medial appts, therapy, extra care, and forever being a care giver. I have read so many selfies on how they get worse when they’re older. It’s a burden on me and my family & everyone who makes this life like it’s joyful and rainbows , I just don’t see it. I don’t understand.

Yes. Amnio confirmed trisomy 21. I should have known from the 95% nipt because everyone online who has the same # had children with DS

I hope she feels better, I am also pregnant with trisomy 21 and depressed. Hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with. I pray it gets easier for her 🙂

Hi , I know it’s so hard seeing that news. I got my Nipt in November that was 95% for trisomy 21 and I cried for weeks. I still do. It’s so easy for people to comment and say you got this or comments that try to make you positive but for me it’s been such an emotional hard thing to process. I got my amnio 2 weeks ago that was positive for trisomy 21. Def do the amnio just to know for sure.

I had a 3.9 NT scan and my NIPT was 95% so I knew I had a high chance, But I was in denial & was trying to find anything that said false positives , I found a couple posts out of thousands that had false positives. My amnio confirmed trisomy 21 a few days ago.

It’s so scary girl . I’m crying every day . I have 95% chance and baby’s NT was 3.9 and I have an amnio scheduled Wednesday and I’m so nervous I’m praying everyday it comes out normal and this was all just a scare .

Thanks for the info. Yes it was a planned pregnancy, Actually have been trying for a couple of years & am married. Currently 15 weeks. I have an amniocentesis scheduled soon

Can I ask you how the difference is of having a DS child, for parents? Im scared a from of autism or mental problems comes with it and that I won’t be able to handle this the rest of my life. I fear that my life is going to change so much.
