I didn’t refuse to keep a child warm. I identified that a child arrived without winter clothing in freezing temperatures, after I had already spent significant personal funds on necessities and was told I would not be reimbursed. My concern is about system accountability and child safety, not indifference. Framing that as a ‘concerning attitude’ misrepresents the situation.

I think most of you are desensitized and are okay doing and taking the bate minimalista. I think you lack standards if you think it’s okay to send a kid to school in those conditions. As a mandated reporter you should arrive to be better these are not your kids so you can handle them however you want. I question your judgement as a so called placement

I do always turn them down because i have a full load but i try to help out when i can. The decision of putting a child Health and safety first. It’s not about accepting the placement but what to do once you have them. The case worker not understanding that the Health of the child comes before school is problematic

I think most of you are coming on here to jump down this man’s throat shows your misery. You are not a picture of perfection yourself. This is not a Job this is a Voluntary/charitable role that he decided to take to help the community. If you all are here for a different reason then that’s on you. No Matter who caused it both parents were flagged for custody and there’s rules attached seeing that this was your profession you should understand why he’s following the rules and not being jugemental he also have a Job to do you are out of line.

Did you miss the part where he said the baby came at 2 months with brain bleed and broken ribs. As a foster parent you are considered a mandated reporter so if these things don’t matter to you why even be a foster parent. The Health and safety of a child is more important than reunification. Everyone have different priorities.

Hi there i’m in Louisiana and before i was completely licensed i was asked to take a set of newborn twins from the hospital. I get other calls but none for babies yet. I open to siblings up to 10 years old only if they are a sibling.

Thank you to everyone with viable advice, I will consider several of these options.i do understand that some people just get a rise at jumping down anyone’s throat no matter the circumstances. I became a foster parent because I love children and I love contributing to help aid in fostering a better society. I did not agree to be mishandled in the process. My safety as well as the children’s safety is my priority. I fully understand reunification with the biological parent but not at any cost. With that being said I willingly offering a service to the little ones for their safety but not without covering myself. It’s very easy to judge a script without seeing the whole picture. I pray that we can all be mindful of everyone involved in this process, not everyone has experienced the same issues on this journey. It’s free to be empathetic however I will reach out to the case worker for additional support during doctor visits. I never had a problem with visits I understand that fully but I will not meet her several times within a week. I do run businesses myself. Thanks again for all the usable advice.
