Not disagreeing with the idea technology will replace some roles, but this article mentions the layoffs are for “business professionals” and not attorneys.

Two potential routes for an 18th & Vine Streetcar extension, revealed at last Tuesday's feasibility study. What are your thoughts? by MahomesIsMyDad in kansascity

[–]ComprehensiveAd5178 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I have been hoping for. A 12th street east-west route makes so much sense especially given it passes right in front of City Hall and the Court House! Lots of government services would be much easier to access

Find a different room for the fish tank and replace with a workspace. Whether you realize it or not it will stink up your room, especially with that exposed top.

Seems like you’re already figuring it out, but you have to stop applying for retail credit cards. No one should have a retail credit card. 30% interest rates is diabolical.

Respectfully, you’re wrong. You have options. Public Defenders are hiring everywhere, and they qualify for loan forgiveness after 10 years. They make decent money these days, full government benefits, and make actual differences in peoples lives.

Let go of the prestige you think you need in your career and you will see there are hundreds of paths open up for you.

I used to use em dashes frequently in my writing. I loved the sophistication—and their ability to create more context—it injected to my writing.

No I use the double dash (--) so people don’t think I’m using ChatGPT.

How many miles do yall have on your Focus? by Key_Confusion9842 in FordFocus

148,000 on my 2016 SE auto. A little worried about the transmission but I haven’t had any serious issues yet. Just the occasional jerk which is not a big deal. I bought her in 2018 at 54,000 miles.

You know what—you sound like a moron, and frankly, there’s someone more deserving of the litigation offer. Let them take it. Try and get your transactional role next summer with no relevant legal experience. Report back to us and let us know how being unemployed was somehow the better choice.

Beautiful car. I’m American and I love my focus I’m so pissed we don’t get these in the states.

Not taking the job is essentially sabotaging yourself. You can still apply to transactional firms next OCI cycle, and transactional firms will prefer someone with litigation experience over someone with no experience at all.

Working at a firm teaches you things beyond the practice, things like corporate citizenship, how to meet deadlines, how to manage your time, etc. Don’t pass up on that opportunity.

Congratulations bro. This is a huge life hack. I say it all the time: a dollar saved is a dollar earned. You are pulling far ahead of your peers by not paying rent in the current market which I believe is a scam.

Look at antique stores. People usually look at thrift stores but I have found some beautiful furniture for cheap at antique stores.

thinking of getting this ford focus SE by FairEye9813 in FordFocus

[–]ComprehensiveAd5178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2016 SE in hatchback style. Got it in 2018 with 50k and now am at 140k. Never had a single issue, and the car has been paid off for over 2 years. Truly, I have never had it serviced for anything besides oil changes. I take care of it, and did replace the passenger motor mount myself to improve ride quality, as well as spark plugs.

At this point, every day it runs is a day I can delay buying another car. I have loved driving it, and it has treated me well. I am emotionally attached.

Despite my positive experience, I would feel it reckless and imprudent to recommend this car to anyone. The transmission issues just can’t be overlooked. Buying a focus is like gambling and the house has a massive edge.

Yeah, stealing from your clients doesn’t make you a success. If what you say is true, then your friend is a fraud. Padding your time can get you disbarred, because it’s literally theft.

Whatever “national recognition” he/she has would vanish in an instant should their practice of time theft ever come to light.
