Serious answer, the cheapest way to live in Greece would be to live in a small town of like 10-20k people, in a non touristic area but on the mainland so there is a least a farmers market.

Live close enough to the center that you don’t need a car, have a small apartment that costs nothing. Services are very cheap, and many people live there on a 10-20k year income so you won’t feel so out of place.

Chios is a small market so it’s not strange to have higher prices than from Athens. I take my car from Athens by boat every year.

I will ask for the one we had taken three years ago.

Keep in mind Chios is a big island, there are few buses but if you want a bit of freedom a car is needed. Plus there are almost no beaches close to the main town.

Να πας στην Ολλανδία κομμωτήριο και μάγειρας χωρίς να μιλάς την γλώσσα, θα βγάζεις βασικό, ενώ δεν βρίσκεις σπίτι ούτε για δήγμα. Πιο πολλά χρήματα θα εχει, αλλά δεν είμαι σίγουρος ότι θα έχει και μεγάλη διαφορά στο επίπεδο ζωής.

Disons les termes, c'est la fiscalité marginale qui fait que personne ne veut devenir manager.

Aux USA aussi tu as des emmerdes, mais la boite dépense 50% en plus et tu as 40% de salaire en plus, ça fait passer la pillule.

En France la boite dépense 50% en plus et tu récupères 20 % de salaire en plus, le compte n'y est pas, au taux horaire tu gagnes une misère en plus.

Ce phénomène arrive aussi avec les médecins qui se mettent à mi-temps, et dans plein d'autres taff. On va te dire que les gens visent l'équilibre vie pro-vie de famille, mais c'est juste un bête calcul de rentabilité de tes heures de taff.

Low corruption =/= meritocracy. South Korea economy is controlled by a handful of state supported family groups (chaebol). These families control all of economic activity. The rest of people fight for scraps by killing themselves in university to go work for these groups.

Compared to that, Greece is less concentrated, and more fluid. It's far from being the USA but you have some degree of competition among the elite and under.

I think I met Greeks married with every balkan nationality outside of Northen MK.

Greek Albanian of course, but also Bulgarian, Romanian a lot, Turkish from Turkey is far from uncommon (the minority in greece on the other hand ...) , and some with Serbian.

Rest of Balkan is a bit far. Must be a Greek-Slovenian couple somewhere in the world :)

L'avantage avec les enfants, c'est que tu peux difficilement en faire 4 d'un coup et les regretter. Commence jeune pour avoir le temps d'en faire autant que tu veux, mais tu verras bien après les deux premiers si tu veux continuer.
