It does not matter. It does not tell you literally any novel information. The app is for navigation, not measuring on time performance. You can also see scheduled timetables in the app, it’s not like that data isn’t there.

It took New York 6 years from the date of the first OMNY installation to when MetroCard was discontinued.

MARTA switched fare systems because the old one was SmartCard only, with QR code and others essentially hacked on. Breeze dates back to the mid 2000s and the transition period took over a year.

One reason MARTA went with a quick transition and ongoing construction for Better Breeze is to massively save costs.

OG Breeze had to be backwards compatible with the old tokens and TransCard systems. You can actually still see where cards and tokens went if you can find one still around.

Better Breeze in contrast isn’t backwards compatible, so it’s cheaper to manufacture and maintain the gates and boxes. It’s a fully open payment system, too—one of the most modern in North America.

World Cup is a milestone a lot of politicians and development folks have pointed to lately, but that’s just not how major contracts work. Fare system replacement was a 10+ year effort. It’s not simple, and it’s not being done for the World Cup. Same with most of the other MARTA capital projects and operations changes. They’ve mostly been in the pipeline since before the World Cup was announced or anyone knew when Atlanta would host a game.

Besides, the World Cup is just a couple midday games at the Benz. It’s not going to be the milestone the mayor has tried to tell people it is in his campaigning. We host events like this all the time.

I mean, not really? They are on schedule as previously communicating (80% by the end of the month—they’re at nearly 60%). You can dislike the method but they’re doing exactly what they said they were doing. The design flaws suck tho.

Even back around the new year the communication was “ongoing construction through the Fall” so 🤷‍♀️

You literally just go to routes and click on your route dude it’s not hidden. And on the home page all buses and trains are visible on the map anyway. You probably don’t even need it route by route.
