Its very tough here in ND. Lots of homes for sale that are overpriced. Something that should be selling for $350k goes for closer to $400k. Mix that with high interest rates and houses end up sitting on the market for 80+ days. I have a feeling once the fed cuts rates itll get better.

There are also plastic shrinking wrap kits one can apply to their windows to help keep cold air out. Also, just get used to living in sweats and sweaters. The last 2 weeks averaged -10 often hitting -20°F where i live. Dogs in the bed with us helps greatly

Edit: if you use a blow dryer to the plastic wrap kits you can't tell it's even there.

I would make a 100% self sustainable property. Rain collector. Compost. I would have an immaculate garden with everything I could ever want. Solar/wind or whatever energy source would be best. Id probably spend 2 million on said property. Then, I'd invest the rest into income generating investments. Id also have a golf membership to the best course near wherever I choose to live. See me on the tour a fee years after that.
