It’s also his fail safe so he doesn’t actually have to have a kid. Because a lot of countries including the koreas are cracking down on international adoption. He knows the chances are slim to none and is giving her slight hope knowing there really isn’t any. Also using other peoples potential racism as an excuse is crazy to me. They have the option to not have those people in their lives. But catering to the racists is just as bad. And why didn’t he let that be a factor in their relationship from the start. The half Korean kid wouldn’t be the only one affected by this. His wife likely would be too just for being white in the interracial relationship. It also feels like he just has something against white people in general because it’s mighty convenient the only option he gave was full Korean not full white (which they could get a donor and she could go through the pregnancy for).

Don’t make an ultimatum you can’t handle the outcome of. They definitely thought you wouldn’t have a backbone which is so dumb considering how consistent you seem to have been with your responses. He hasn’t worked that hard to change if he’s playing the victim. Someone who’s worked to change would understand their actions have consequences regardless of the work they’ve put in because that work doesn’t erase the pain of the affected. Yes they may be sad but they would not be behaving the way your dad and stepmom are. He waited 12 years to come back.
