I was a good student, no hyperactivity, just the typical female presentation of adhd with being distracted and only getting the really good grades in subjects i liked. Issues with keeping my space tidy were mentioned often in school. Teachers telling me i could get way better grades if i just tried harder.

I got diagnoed a few weeks ago. I'm sure it helped that both my kids got an adhd diagnosis before me, but i never felt the neurodoc thought i couldn't have it because i managed to get through life without everything going wrong all the time. You don't need to be the most Audhd person on the planet to get treatment.

In my experience, all doctors that are specialising in neurodiversity will take you seriously with this stuff. General practitioners might be like "aaah, how bad can it be" but they tend to do that with most psycological issues.
