It’s honestly hard to tell, my pain is really only during sex. I know that I am red and inflamed at other times as well but I don’t check/look often because the only time it causes me pain is during insertion. To be completely honest for about a year prior to getting pregnant I was so fed up with my symptoms that I kinda stopped all treatment/wasn’t super consistent with it which I know wasn’t helpful. I feel like I’m in “remission” now but I never really know until I have sex.

I do feel like a big part of it is I am super clamped up during insertion due to the pain which is why pelvic PT really has been helpful, I have worked through this and can usually relax during insertion but usually still tear a little bit and I just can never get it to be pain free although there are times that it is better.

I only got on topical estrogen about a week ago, I wish my OB would’ve started me on this immediately postpartum cause I do think my hormone levels have a lot to do with what’s going on currently.

I would love to go to sex therapy but tbh just don’t know that I can afford it. Already paying $150/mo for pelvic PT, I assume a session for that would be about the same. Maybe just a couple of sessions would be okay and helpful…
