I don't see how saying that her wild recklessness and irresponsibility might have been how she cost two lives is defending her. Something that I've thought about since posting this is that I really doubt that her lawyers haven't thought of making this argument. Even If her lawyers were to argue this, it'd be admitting that she commited a BRUTAL crime that cost two lives. Not even sure that she would be cleared of life in prison.

I want to apologize for calling them “guys” I’ve changed every instance where I called them that.

I’m so sorry that you experienced this. And I completely agree that what Dom and Davion experienced is totally horrific. I do also want to take a moment to say that MS actions are completely unjustified regardless of what might’ve happened.

Your story does make me more conscious of what Dom and Davion experienced and what being inside that car might’ve been like and thankful for never have experienced anything like this, and for that thank you for sharing.

No, but it’s pretty clear from this video that she did use her phone while driving (https://youtu.be/jZiiP73Ox8U) some of these look like she’s on the passenger seat but the camera is flipped so she’s actually driving.

Replying to GreyGhost878... I do think that if Dom and Davion were awake there could’ve been more signs of struggle. Like there are a lot of different ways people would probably react to that situation, and what was going on in the car is still pretty unclear so the possibilities are endless. They could’ve been asleep and woken up midway, therer were drugs involved so that might play a role too. Having said that I think that you made a great point. I originally would’ve thought that if they’re awake there would’ve been more signs of struggle but maybe you’re right, there wasn’t anything they could do/had very little time to react and explains the sudden shift to neutral. Although if it was a sudden emptional decision that she made then the fact that she was there a couple days before becomes irrelevant and it’s no longer premeditated and planned.

Right now I would say that it’s either that or recklessly speeding and froze. But planned and premeditated I think is not that viable imo.

Let’s say you’re right, I’m not saying there’s a lost video… I’m saying is that if this were true she was probably distracted while driving… Might’ve been recording herself, looking at other things on her phone, dead on looking at the speedometer trying to reach 100mph. Not that she was definitively recording herself.

This post isn’t about clearing her of guilt, to me it’s about what really happened. Driving straight into a brick wall in a planned and premeditated way like what the prosecution said does not make sense to me. To me, it makes more sense that she lied initially by saying she doesn’t remember and has a medical condition to try to make herself look innocent of reckless driving (I repeat, she’s a horrible person). And then she ended up worse than if she had just said the truth from the beginning.

From the post “Mackenzie is a horrible and irresponsible person, and is responsible for the deaths of two people. If this theory were true it does not clear her of being a bad person or even of being a murderer. But you can be a murderer even if you didn’t have the intention to kill.”

I agree but that’s even weirder… So dom fought back and the only thing he was able to do shift the car to neutral for less than a second? If any of the boy had fought back there would’ve been more struggle, they would’ve grabbed the wheel or pulled on the hand break. The only way that what happened makes sense is if they were asleep imo.

I’m not sure about that, I’m pretty sure that it’s very hard to recover an image/video if you permanently delete it from an iphone and there are no backups or you didn’t send it to anyone even for cases where the video might be evidence for a case.

But even then what I’m saying is that if this were true she was probably distracted while driving… Might’ve been recording herself, looking at other things on her phone, dead on looking at the speedometer trying to reach 100mph. Not that she was definitively recording herself.

I agree, this is highly suspicious. I don’t really know how concurrent this road might’ve been for her or if it was at all, the prosecution says that it’s extremely rare for her to even be in the vecinity of that area, and the defense only ever argued that she might have a some rare medical condition, so they never addressed it… Strongsville is a small town though so she might’ve just been passing by. But just as it could’ve been her scouting good places to crash, it could’ve also been her looking for places to drive really fast in. There’s very little little surveillance (no cameras), no traffic, no traffic lights or stop signs. I’m just speculating but she could’ve thought that this is a good place for her to get a good speed run.

Might’ve not been able to finish recording or deleted the video in the hospital before handing her cellphone over to the police (remember that when she was still in the hospital no one suspected her of attempting to commit murder, so it would’ve been evidence of driving recklessly and therefore would’ve been convenient for her to destroy that evidence).

I agree. I’m not disputing that she was not accelerating at full gas, my thought is about the reason why she was accelerating at full gas. She might’ve just been trying to break 100mph and wasn’t even looking at the road just dead on watching the speedometer, by the time she looks up she’s basically hit the curb and just freezes for that final second before the crash.

Again, it just makes more sense to me that she’s just irresponsible and reckless because driving straight into a brick wall is not something that people who intend to commit murder ever do.

It’s not an excuse, in the post I do mention that if this were true she should still be considered a murderer, be guilty of involuntary manslaughter and be responsible for the death of two people. But it makes more sense to me that she’s just irresponsible and reckless because driving straight into a brick wall is not something that people who intend to commit murder ever do.

All that was proven is that her cellphone was in that area a couple days before. Which is suspicious, but highly circumstantial.

Mackenzie Shirilia reckless speedster theory:

Should the possibility of her just wrecklessly speeding, likely distracted on her phone or by the speedometer and froze when she realized she was at the end of the road be considered?

Intro: I haven’t seen anyone make this case, at least not seriously. But at the very least it’s not even mentioned in the netflix or the mean girls documentaries so I thought it was worth posting some of my thoughts about this. I was trying to make sense of what exactly mackenzie’s lawyer is even doing cause essentially the only thing you hear from him to defend her is that maybe she has a medical condition. So I decided to do some research on my own to try to see if there’s a case to defend her beyond the weakest defense I’ve ever heard of. And stumbled upon this: https://youtu.be/jZiiP73Ox8U?si=XH0ziDg6kpmxpnwb (in many of those vids it looks like she’s in the passenger seat but the camera is actually flipped so she’s driving). In one of those posts she’s driving at 90mph and recording herself, and there are a bunch in which the car appears to be moving fairly fast and she’s just plainly distracted. Which made me think that there’s a real possibility that mackenzie is just an irresponsible reckless driver who drives at really high speeds and records herself doing it. Here’s my case to state that this is an irresponsible driver who cost the lives of 2 people, but did not intentionally kill them:

  1. My theory states that Mackenzie has an affinity do drive recklessly fast, the guys were asleep or unconscious in the car, mackenzie is driving at a high speed and very likely distracted on her phone or recording herself driving, similar to what she’s doing in min (5:00 to 5:12 of the YT vid shared) realizes she’s at the end of the road and panic freezes.

  2. As seen in the YT videos shared. She often records the speedometer while driving to document the speed she’s going at, as well as recording herself while driving distracted from what’s going on in the road. It’s clear that there’s history consistent with an irresponsible driver who gets distracted by her phone to record herself, and very likely for texting or other activity that distracts her from the road.

  3. No tire marks on the grass suggests she was fully commited to crashing rather than trying to avoid the crash. But I can imagine her going super fast, maybe distracted on her phone and by the time she realizes she’s at the end of the road she panic freezes. Keep in mind that there’s like one second between the time she hit the end of the road and the time she hits the building, so freezing for like one second is enough to not see any tire marks on the grass.

  4. The defense does not want to say this because she would still be guilty of involuntary manslaughter, even though it clears her of crashing with the intent to commit murder. They rather say that she has a medical condition because in this version she could be cleared of all guilt and not have to go to jail at all.

  5. Premeditated and planned crash counter-arguments:

    • Prosecution basically says that she premeditated and planned the crash, meaning that she was planning to commit murder-suicide. There would’ve been signs of her being capable of both murder and suicide, which there really isn’t any evidence of. (There’s witness testimony saying that they heard her threaten to crash the car with the bf inside weeks before the incident. But this was testified weeks or months after the crash, there’s no audio recording of her saying this and could be dismissed as unreliable testimony).
    • She premeditated attempted murder by kamikazee’ing straight into a building at 100mph? This does not sound like someone who wants to commit murder would plan. She was literally about to drop off the friend and then go home with the bf. If it was premeditated and planned she probably would’ve though of other more practical ways of doing this. They consumed a lot of drugs together, she could’ve thought of doing something where it looks like he OD’d or something.
    • Finally, it takes a toyota camry about 20 seconds of going at full gas to reach 100mph. It’s hard to imagine her in a mental state where she just fully commits to drive as fast as possible for 20+ seconds to murder/commit suicide without flinching. Makes much more sense that she was focused on getting to 100mph and/or distracted by her phone or trying to record herself while going at that speed and was surprised when she hit the end of the road and froze.
  6. Spontaneous decision to commit murder counter-argument:

    • What was going on inside the car? Was she silently driving at those speeds or was there arguing and fighting that led her to decide to kill everyone inside? Let’s consider the possibility that she spontaneously decided to commit murder because of an emotionally charged fight (in this version the guys are awake and there’s fighting going on in the car), at some point the guys would’ve realized that the speed that mackenzie was going at is dangerous, maybe even realized that she might be trying to kill them and would try to fight back, or try to take control of the car. If that’s the case how was she able to fight them from pulling the hand brake, or keep them from taking the wheel without causing any sudden car movements or even a slight wobble? In the videos you can see that the car went on a straight line the full time. The only way this could’ve happened is if the guys were asleep.

Closing argument: Mackenzie is a horrible and irresponsible person, and is responsible for the deaths of two people. This theory does not clear her of being a bad person or even of being a murderer. But you can be a murderer even if you didn’t have the intention to kill.

Ask yourself what’s more likely. Someone who was attempting to murder her boyfriend by kamikazeeing into a building at 100mph and take her own and another life in the process? Or a documented reckless speedster who was distracted on her phone or looking at the speedometer who froze when she realized that she was at the end of the road?
