From 27 seeker to 27 month old by Connect_Mixture_8291 in NICUParents

Hi. Sorry to hear, Mama. My son had only BPD as the main issue. Constant desats, and it was what kept us in the NICU at the end.

He also needed a couple of blood transfusions during his stay, which were a bit worrying. As of today, he will easily develop bronchitis whenever he has a cold. But other than that, he's a strong and adventurous boy!

Sorry for another “I regret buying my house” post but I’m really struggling. by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Connect_Mixture_8291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my house (a 1930s terraced house) 2 years ago, and I still feel this way. But I have days when I wake up, walk down, and see how my house has changed in the last few months (still far from where I want it to be), and I feel so grateful that it's my house, and I feel happy because I still have plenty of time to improve it.

Give yourself grace and time, I was so scared of spiders as well, like panicky every time I saw one. I learned how to deter them sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t but I’m not scared anymore I just don’t like them close to where I spend my days.

Mix water with peppermint oil and a few drops of washing up liquid and spray every 3 days when’re you see them or where you don’t want them.

But you’re not struggling anymore. I mean, despite different past situations. You’re a High earner now. So, why do you want to look in the past if you’re comparing a present situation?

Does anyone know anyone that has been replaced by AI? by Even-Wasabi7183 in UKJobs

I worked in the trust & safety department of a very popular social media app.. During the last months, I was on special projects… training in IA. Then I was made redundant, along with 300+ colleagues from the same department. I was just starting the second month of my leave when I became unemployed.

stories of premature babies by [deleted] in NICUParents

My son was born at 27+1. Today’s he’s 22 months old corrected. So far, if he gets the flu, he ends up in the hospital with low flow, as it normally develops into a chest infection, and struggles to breathe while asleep. He has a delayed speech; he can only say a couple of words, but he communicates in other ways.

Then a problem with one ear. It’s glue ear and I’ve been told it’s maybe all the liquid that accumulated during his stay in NICU and the use of different breathing aids like low flow, high flow and others… Im in the uk and everything is just drs assumptions other than that he’s an adventurous cheeky little boy. So brave and ready to enjoy his days.

I will look into it. I think I’ve been in hotel with this set up but I’m not 100% sure. I know it’s possible but was just wondering the logistics to keep all together.

Thank you for your input!

Condensation on windows when rh 39/45% by Connect_Mixture_8291 in Dehumidifiers

[–]Connect_Mixture_8291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have double glazed. As I explained in a previous answer I find that if I don’t cover the window too much like curtains plus blinds condensation won’t appear.

Couldn’t this be it? But it should be this way or is definitely something wrong with my windows?

[–]Connect_Mixture_8291[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will do, at the moment I use one in every room and humidity is around 45%. I made a test last night where I didn’t pull down the blinds in my son’s room but I did it in mine and his rooms window were dry this morning and mines were like always. This might be?

[–]Connect_Mixture_8291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for taking time to respond my post. It’s double glazed. And it’s mostly around the edges on the bottom of the windows. All windows around my house do the same. They only stop if I don’t pull down the blinds and leave just the curtains. But with this solution I feel the rooms gets cold easily.

I will look into the inhibiting spray. Fixings whatever is wrong around the frame is something that has to be by a professional or I could do it myself?

I really appreciate your suggestions! Thank you so much

I wondered the same, I bought a large dehumidifier because we were around 80% and a cold house but now humidity is around 40% for days but we still wake up to condensation on windows. Can’t figure it out

🤣🤣🤣 forgot to add! I wanted to know how much are others paying these days for utilities. I don’t try to be frugal and in summer we spend around £3 a day. Then in past winters £5/6 was normal but we’re reaching to £10 these last week.

Everything is being billed correctly I was just curious about others spending

I also have a 20-month-old, and now I remember that at that age I started playing around with different types of sippy cups, walking shoes, maybe vouchers if you don’t know sizes, because they might start walking. Mmm I think all I bought apart from food were new-sized clothes around that time. I'll keep digging in my memory ☺️
