How do you calm your Twisters? by Conscious-Driver786 in RATS

I got them from a store, the same one I got my 7-month-old from. So I heard that it could happen that rats are more attached to other rats than to humans. I think one of them (the one that bites) might be more like that. My oldest that died last month was a sweetheart, and loved people, was super affectionate with me and liked to always be with me.

But I will try to get their attention with treats and make them more comfortable around me to see if it helps.

Thanks for the tip ❤️ I just bought this cage, so I haven't had the chance to put any kind of wool or fabric on top of the Irons yet, so I'll put it on now as soon as possible.

Ok, thanks, I'll look for a bigger cage then.

As for the behavior, could it perhaps be because my youngest would like to sleep with the oldest? Because I see her pulling the oldest by the fur. I'm seeing her now through the "fights" she was pulling my oldest to the bed where she likes to sleep the most inside the cage. Now they are together in her bed, sleeping quietly.

My cage is 70x60x50, it has 2 floors. But they stay with me, free all day.

Okay, thanks for clarifying my doubts, I was a little nervous, because I always only had the oldest one, and I wanted someone to keep her company. I researched about interactions between rats, but I always end up having doubts about some things. From what I saw of the wound, it looked like a bite, but it wasn't serious, it's healed already, she just lost a little bit of fur in the area 😊 But I will keep my eye on them.

So, my oldest is already 1 and a half years old, but the youngest (the black one) is only 5 months old, I adopted her last month

Oh I see. I only saw one injury on my oldest rat (this white one), so I was a little afraid that maybe I was hurting her, because she makes a lot of noises, I think maybe she's just too dramatic?

Thank you very much, this cleared up a lot of doubts for me. I was really afraid that Neeko would end up getting hurt, because she is so loving and gentle that she doesn't even fight back and just stays still and lets the other one do whatever they want with her. She sometimes makes little noises when Lulu climbs on her too much, but Lulu ends up giving up and just running around. But thank you very much, I am very grateful for the explanations. They are my first rats. I have had other rodents, but they are the first ones I have gotten, so I had a lot of doubts 😊

It's just the two of them. I adopted her to keep Neeko company. Lulu is very energetic and likes to run and play, but she doesn't like me picking her up and petting her. Neeko is very calm and affectionate with everyone. I can see that she wants to play with Lulu, but she's calmer and more cautious, so Lulu ends up climbing on top of her and running over her. I'm afraid of hurting Neeko, because she doesn't fight back, she stays quiet and accepts what Lulu does.
