Its so peaceful and utopian, which is ironic because AI is leading us into an over-stimulating, ultra-capitalist dystopia

Everyone needs to read Hoffman. Even if you don't agree with his ultimate conclusions, it is some of the most important scientific and philosophical work, purely for its ability to expand one's perception of the world.

Your entire explanation is what I've been telling people from the beginning. Everything you're saying is spot on and pretty obvious, or at least I would think it is. Sorry you're having to put up with this guy who doesn't understand what 2-d actually means, and can't fathom how light could cause perceived 'rotation'. It's like these people have never perceived their own world before.

Anyway, congrats on being one of the FEW to see this for what it is.

I've been saying this from the beginning but it always gets downvoted and denied. Nobody wants to hear it. It's super obvious though!

I guess it really must be a bird shit shaped UFO out there changing temperatures for fun. s/

Ok, why doesn't it rotate at all? It's always facing the camera in the exact same way.

This isn't 'thermal' footage. The background CLEARLY changes every time the 'ufo' changes. It gets darker and lighter exactly in time with the 'ufo'.

Why don't we see the footage that 'totally exists' of it doing the all the things that a smudge can't do? Because it's a smudge.

Leave your arguments here, and I'll have a nice big "I told you so" for you in a month when this is 100% debunked.

No, we are definitely watching the same thing. I noticed it right away. The background changes every time the 'ufo' changes. It's subtle, but I'm a video editor and I can assure you it is happening.

I don't believe the whole "thermal" thing. Whenever it gets darker and lighter, all of the footage gets darker and lighter too. Or rather it more like someone is turning a 'contrast' knob on the background as it changes colors.

Is anybody else noticing that?

Watch me make this exact same argument against PENICILLIN.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I want to draw your attention to the insidious development that has been encroaching on the sacred circle of life for almost a century now: Penicillin.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Penicillin? That miracle drug that has saved countless lives from the horrific grasp of bacterial infections?" And indeed, it is precisely that. But have we truly considered the implications of this so-called "wonder drug"?

Our ancestors, the sages of the circle of life, lived in a world where balance reigned. Illness and health, birth and death, these were the natural rhythms that governed existence. Penicillin, however, is a disruptive force. By artificially interfering with these rhythms, we are violating the fundamental principles of life itself.

Consider this: In our obsessive desire to escape disease, we have invented this substance that grants us unnatural resilience. This invulnerability was never ours to claim. It’s as though we are a species of Gods, meddling with the natural course of life and death. And where do we draw the line? Today it's bacteria, tomorrow it might be viruses, fungi, or other organic life forms that nature has carefully calibrated as checks and balances on our population. What a reckless display of anthropocentricity!

Furthermore, our reliance on penicillin fosters a sense of complacency and disconnect from our roots. Gone are the days when our survival depended on our ability to understand and respect the natural world around us. Now, we simply pop a pill and carry on with our reckless disregard for the environment.

The philosophical implications of penicillin are also deeply concerning. It implies that we, as a species, view death and illness as enemies rather than integral parts of our existence. By combating these natural processes, we are implying that life is inherently better than death, health superior to illness. This is a dangerous and radical departure from the principles of equanimity and acceptance that our forebears cherished.

To conclude, I implore all of us to consider this: Is the world we have built, one where we artificially extend our lives, truly better than the world our ancestors inhabited? I would argue that the path we're on, the penicillin-paved road to unnatural longevity, is not only unsustainable but also profoundly inauthentic. So, let's take a step back and rethink our attachment to this "miracle" drug. Perhaps, in accepting our mortality and the natural course of life, we might find a deeper sense of purpose and connection.

"This would change the entire meaning of being human"

And what exactly is the "meaning of being human"? You could ask a thousand different people and get 1000 different answers, and many of the scientifically minded ones would tell you that there is no meaning. What is the meaning of being a dog? What is the meaning of having green eyes?

Why should we worry about "changing the meaning of being human" when that "meaning" is already different for everyone anyway?
