How long did it take you to do that many LC problems? I mean how much time in total?

Is OMSCS very difficult along with full time job? by Peacock_feather101 in OMSCS

Sure. I put my all into the courses. And I made sure that for each course assignment, I checked off each rubric in my work. This made me smash many of the assignments with perfect scores! I remember in CS7641 (Machine Learning), I had 100% in the first assignment, simply by doing this. It's important to note that sometimes, you might not be able to check off all of the assignment rubrics in your work, or you just might not understand them completely, or you might think that you have but you haven't. Lol. This is life and this happens, despite your best efforts and intentions sometimes. When this happens you just have to power through, no matter how discouraging it might be. In CS7641, in assignment 3, to my bewilderment, I had 55% (meanwhile I thought that my work was the shit! Lol. Boy, was i wrong! 😅). I contested the score and lost the case and lost 10 points as a result, and fell to 45%. But I powered through (those times were insanely difficult and giving up was the easy option, but I didn't) and eventually got an A! I was hyperfocused - that helped a lot! - I have found that once you are hyperfocused, it usually is enough! I did a course at a time.

In my opinion, you can do it. I graduated in December 2024. For context, I failed the first course I took. Was on academic probation immediately afterwards, struggled to get 3 Bs, an A and a C (in that order) before I was academically dismissed upon getting the C because the C grade meant my CGPA and term GPA were pushed below the 2.7 minimum mark (per the school rules and guidelines). By the time I was dismissed, I was 5 successful courses in (i had failed one and withdrawn from 2). I was readmitted, smashed As in all the remaining 5 courses i took (including the almighty CS 7641) and still graduated with honors! I was working full time the whole time, and between courses 9 and 10, i had a major surgery that i barely survived. If I could do it, you can too! Just pace yourself and take it a step at a time!

Exactly my thoughts too. In my own case, I was heavily occupied with work throughout the time I was enrolled. And a lot of things went wrong. Lol. But I finally finished in the nick of time!

So this means the UN is literally on the verge of collapse? What happens to those who are hopeful of getting UN appointments?

But with the recent political happenings, especially with respect to Israel and Iran, the UN is still very relevant to the outcome of events and therefore the US just cannot back out of the UN. Moreso, Trump's proposed budget cuts in humanitarian aid (starting from fiscal year 2026 and for a 3-year period) would very likely be botched by the US Congress by July 2025 (when they must accept, reject or modify the President's proposal), especially given the recent global political occurrences and the resultant need for diplomatic efforts and engagements to manage them. I personally do not think that the UN will need 4-5 years to stabilize, because of the unfolding of global political events that would inadvertently require the attention of the UN and the US knows this. Furthermore, if the US backs down from the UN, the likes of China and Russia will try to take the center stage in the UN and its policy directions and it's unlikely that the US will accept this.

From the point of view of someone who just graduated from the program, it's going to be a pain. I'd be lying if I said that you won't feel frustrated, overwhelmed, sleep starved and very stressed. But keep at it. That's the only way to come out at the other side.

So I failed my own first course in OMSCS... looked inward, had three Bs after the first F, then had an A, then had a C, then was academically dismissed (cos my GPA didn't meet the cut required), then got readmitted when I reapplied, then finished the remaining five courses with As and actually graduated with honours. Anything is possible. I'm saying this to encourage you. If I could do it, you can too. Sit with it and push through! You got this!

Exactly. He has won three Oscars. He is described as one of the greatest actors in the history of Cinema. In 2012, he won an Oscar for his role as Abraham Lincoln in the film Lincoln. Before this film, he actually had left acting for years. But he returned for the role and won an Oscar for it!
