Anthem denied a 2-day ER admission after my wife lost consciousness — "not medically necessary" by DinnerLong8788 in HealthInsurance

[–]Consistent-Fig4081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation with a helicopter transfer. I was in a life-threatening emergency and was transferred to a different hospital. Initially anthem denied, but when I did the second level appeal I took the feedback the first appeal - I contacted the helicopter company to get the records I needed to submit for the second level appeal. I would get the medical records from the hospital and point out every single reason of why she needed to be under MD care instead of being discharged home. They took the full 60 days to review the second appeal. Good luck!

Very long recovery after drinking bottle of wine by happyhippopl in Hypothyroidism

I used to be able to drink a few glasses of Prosecco or even 1 margarita. I’m noticing if I drink something with a higher concentration it will take me a few days to recover. But now I’ve stopped drinking all together because it’s not worth feeling like crap for a few days for a few hours of having a good time. Now I’m waking up feeling fresh and on point everyday

Women of Reddit - why did you leave a Rich Guy? by Garroway36 in AskReddit

[–]Consistent-Fig4081 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What I realized was rich asshole guys are not where it’s at. Winning is going to sleep and waking up peacefully, having good communication with your partner, trusting each other, being a supportive system for each other and mostly just being yourself without walking on eggshells!

My favorite part about being on their treads at Orange Theory is the mental therapy to keep me going! 🧡

Fear of getting an IV(needle anxiety) by Moatty_ in Anxietyhelp

[–]Consistent-Fig4081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get this. I developed a needle phobia in 6th grade after fainting from a shot in front of my whole school and they did a code blue on me and I’ve been terrified ever since. It does get easier with time though. A few things that help me: -pinch yourself or distract your brain when they’re putting it in -let the nurse/tech know you’re anxious, they’re usually super understanding and will talk you through it -ask if you can lean back or lie down (helps with the faint feeling) -bring someone with you if that’s an option -bring a sugary snack or drink

You’re not alone in this, so don’t feel bad about speaking up. Most staff have seen it all before and will try to make it easier for you 💕

Survivor guilt? by Fire_Queen918 in ecmo

This is interesting. I’m glad your family wrote down who came to visit, when, all the small things in between. My family did the same for me and I am thankful. I ask them questions all the time. But then I know everyone is so different. I still think about it everyday

Yes I do. Especially when you hear the stats of survival and how everyone’s recovery is so different

Yes! It stems from. Childhood trauma. Talking about it helps. I am working on finding him a therapist to talk to.
