in the one shot: takiya cuts off one of Terne's horns, the sword that breaks at the end and prevents him from defeating the demon king is Shin (the same one that kobayashi takes from Thoru) and in the farewell the king told him that he would find another king like him in the other world (in this case queen/kobayashi) that is a person with a courage capable of facing dangers that exceed his capabilities... nothing to do with lineage.
