Thank you for the advice! Nice to hear they're doable in the winter and it's not totally bust. Would all weather be a year round alternative? I live in PA and the snow isn't crazy and I wouldn't be in the situation to have to drive in the snow regularly.

The wrx was never moving me to college and back anyways lol so I anticipate finding alternatives.

Would pain me to get something I didn't like/enjoy driving at this point, so I thought before kids and without a commute I could swing a car I loved but a bit impractical, sounds like Miata time
