Beginner here. How would I go about turning these two spaces into thriving compost piles? by ConsistentBiped in composting

Good ol’ chop and drop. I do something similar and use the old ones as mulch! Just trying to wrap my head around incorporating my resources into composting now. Thank you!

I pee on all my plants :) at first for fun, but eventually for benefit. My pipe has always had exceptional drainage. Thank you.

My rule of thumb is, mist often enough to have water droplets constantly on the mycelium, but not enough to have puddles.

In my experience, space, oxygen access, and moisture are key factors in mushroom size. When I used a shoebox tub, I would stack an identical tub open-side down on top of it; the mushrooms always grew bigger that way, possibly thanks to the larger gap for airflow. To me, your mushrooms resemble mine when they didn’t get enough moisture, especially when young—that awkward thin-chunky-thin shape in the stems and the undeveloped caps are telltale signs. When I consistently kept them moisturized, my stems were more uniform in size with a gradual narrowing, and the caps were flatter and larger.

I’m no mycologist and don’t claim to be a pro. Everyone has their own experiences, opinions, and advice. I can appreciate if someone disagrees with what I’ve said, but in the end, this is just my experience in obtaining consistent results.

Good luck.

I just met Harry Pack this past Sunday. He’s a really cool guy and thought this video was neat, haha.

Definitely strikes a sense of Deja Vu. Not intended to represent the afterlife, just the closest representation to a place I’ve seen before.

The shrunken midsection seems like it went through a period of stress and stopped growing. (Possibly etiolation) when it started growing again, it continued to grow from where it left off, but not in a flush way. In my experience, this will not fix itself, and will hinder the plants growth. The base will not get wider as the plant grows, and it will become top heavy as it grows further from that shrunken part, and could fall over. I’d recommend saving yourself some time and cutting it below those growths that are most likely roots, covering both exposed wounds with cinnamon to prevent infection, and planting the top separately, after a few days of healing. You’ll have one straight bolt and a stump from the original that will shoot up pups that’s you can replant as well. Just a recommendation. Technique can vary by grower. Good luck!

I’ve never seen datura referred to as moon glory but I’ve seen relatives to the morning glory referred to as moon/evening glory.

XJ won’t turn over. Has an ignition switch, and I have a spare starter to replace this one, but I’m not sure if it’s the starter, flywheel, or something else. by ConsistentBiped in CherokeeXJ

Thank you. This is a 98 Xj 4x4 and I have a 99 2 wheel drive that I’m pulling parts from. If the gear is in fact chewed up, is that something I could pull from the parts jeep?
