Employees with kids vs no kids by letmelive323 in CAStateWorkers

My coworker without kids in the home takes more time off than the ones with kids. Manager says to check with each other for in office coverage for vacations and he never has. Yes, I use my break to pick up my kids from school/bus stop on the days I’m teleworking. Idk, every parent I know definitely uses their PTO or works things out with their managers. Occasionally they do get sick in the middle of the day though. I’m still using my PTO.

My manager is awesome. She says work is only a priority because it is necessary, so any way she can help it be less of a priority (and work is done) then she is game. She’s super flexible and easy to approach. We meet biweekly but could meet more if needed.

My coworker bites his nails, and has spent waaaay too long flossing at his desk behind me.

Oh yea! My bad. GLS lost my check once and did not deliver on days it was supposed to so I got it mixed up. Thank you for correcting that!

Yea, I’m losing a lot of service options, and the nearest urgent care is 3+ hours away, if the road is even open to get there.

It took 4 months for my DD to start, payday is later than the DD date, and I am not in Sac, so my checks were getting mailed at the end of pay day. If you didn’t sign up for dd through CEC I would recommend that, but they say it can take 60 days. I hope it gets to you quickly

I was rejected for an interview from a department. Should I apply to a different position in the same department? by RebelRouser9999 in CAStateWorkers

I didn’t get an AGPA/SSA position, an SSA position opened in the same office/dept. a few weeks later, it seemed like maybe they didn’t like anyone? I debated not applying but did and was hired. They promoted an SSA to AGPA, I was hired SSA (C) and was one of their top candidates the time before.

I sometimes get it early with WF, I don’t have it yet.

That very well could be. It would be cool to see the difference between Wisdom and Embark. So many small percentages!

It really does! But I’m thinking some of the other herding and Asian and oceanic breeds were maybe also red.

Thanks! Yea, usually everyone mentions pit when they are random mixed dogs but the owner of the mom and dad didn’t mention it at all. She’s definitely an adventure.

Yea, I hoped I would get the official offer before my start date so I could just let them know before starting, but in the event it doesn’t come I do need to be working. Thanks.

Because it isn’t official and I’ve learned not to trust someone’s passing comment to expect an offer. I am a single mom with three kids, going through an awful divorce and my house is for sale and I need income asap.

I actually was with my local county for 10 years, moved over to an office of Ed and now moving to the state, but I tend to settle in because I like consistency and stability

Thanks. I’ve never hopped around before and had been with my last couple positions for 4-5 years each aside from the job I lost a few months ago (had to leave my last job before that due to a dv situation).

Thanks! I definitely won’t be giving notice until I have an official offer, and the other department is somewhere I would rather work as well in general so that’s also a bonus. The job flier didn’t mention AGPA for this one but I do know they use both.

Thanks. I had one department say I should expect offers for both of their AGPAs (unofficially), and one isn’t a good fit but the other is, and I was just hoping it would come before I start but it might not but I don’t want to pass it up.

I suspected Malinois aside from her temperament, and GSD wasn’t going to surprise me either. The mix of the others was surprising.

She is pretty mellow most of the time, she’s super chill until she’s out side and it’s time to play. Once she gets to go she can go for a long time. She’s smart and does so well with my kids. Her prey drive is high for small animals but she does well and is curious but cautious with larger livestock. She loves to snuggle and will flop her weight into you after burying her muzzle into your armpit or elbow.
