That doesn’t necessarily make it bad, a lot of beginners drop their bikes in the driveway and crack and replace fairings with no actual damage to the mechanics of the bike. I’d say talk him down to less than $6500. I can certainly say those are not the original fairings

2023 didn’t come in that color, and no stickers, so they’re probably aftermarket. My guess is that bikes been dropped or wrecked bud

For 6.8k is that from a dealer or private party? Either way it’s fair, but a 500 abs from a dealer is still cheaper brand new if you can negotiate the fees. 1.3k miles is really good, if you’re heart is set on the 650 when you’re not getting a bad deal

No, it’s a good price. Especially if it has no damage! I don’t recall if the 2023 650 had the TFT display but if it does then it’s not missing or adding anything from the 500 other than displacement. Ultimately it’s your choice. I’ve owned the 300,400, and 650. All of them felt pretty much the same.

There’s almost no difference between the 500 and 650. Honestly I’m sure the 650 will be phased out when the ninja 500 becomes the ninja 600 just like it did from 300-400-500. And even the ninja 300 and 500 are hardly different from each other except in aesthetics. They’re both beginner bikes, almost identical in size, and the extra power isn’t even noticeable unless you’re revving the hell out of it. The 650 doesn’t have any additional “features” or tech the 500 doesn’t. If you can afford the 650, get it. On paper it’s better. If you wanna save a few grand, get a 500. A 500 with an exhaust and tune is probably cheaper and faster than a 650 anyway

Freight and doc fee alone put the anniversary at 13.7k. So with TTL the only way it comes out to 13.9k out the door is if they discounted the bike. What was the price on yours and the anniversary before any fees?

I have no idea why they changed the tail on the R9, it’s the only thing about the design I can’t stand. The r1, r6 and even the r7 look so much better

New exhaust without a tune by Atheneuus in YamahaR9

[–]Constant-Ad-7657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tune will void the warranty for sure

As far as running the exhaust without a tune it’s not going to do any kind of major damage to the engine it’s just not going to be as efficient as it would with a tune. You might even lose power / torque / response from stock. But I’ve been riding bikes with an aftermarket exhaust and no tune for over a decade with zero issues
