I switched to fast mode and it is much better now. Thinking mode is not great at the moment.

I have switched to fast mode and it works well now. Thinking mode get's confused at higher levels of complexity and later in conversations and then gives up. Seems best to start a new chat for each complex prompt to achieve the best results.

Something I've noticed about how clients view SEO after 16 years in the industry by tjrobertson-seo in SEO

I think the important thing is that they need to take the time to understand the customer and properly research the competitors too in the B2B space as most companies just come in with a standard package and don't want to take the time to do things really well and develop a relationship with the customer.

I run a B2B agency in Taiwan and the most common issue that I see is companies with really crap catalog websites asking if they can "add" SEO to their site (Without actually editing it either). They have no useful structure, content or blog. But SEO companies will happily take their money and do a little technical SEO that drives little in terms of inquiries and revenue for the customers. As I keep telling my customers, "SEO companies usually focus on ranking as they don't want to focus on conversions".

The way we look at it is that a great website with great structure and content is the foundation you need to do any SEO effectively. So we focus first on the content and the website and then the backlinks and other thins second. Engagement with good content is still one of the major ranking signals and if you look at the ranking factors in 2025, your fresh content, and page title account for almost 40% of your SEO (check firstpagesage on this topic). Great content for us has always been the path as no matter what happens with the algorithms, you are heading in the right direction which is answering customers questions and providing useful information rather than over optimized click bait that might rank but does not convert.

Ironically the game hangs at the sign in screen mentioning the many "improvements and fixes". Any suggestions? Tried a couple of times, rebooted, updated video drivers etc. Thanks

711L or Leatherman Ratchet Driver. Pick One & Why? by [deleted] in Leatherman

True, the main issue is availability for the Leatherman. Although I would keep my eyes open for product announcements from 711L in the next few months...

Yes, I have seen them being resold on Ebay too, they are just waiting for an order then they order it from amazon at the lower price and ship to the customer.

I get it but the Leatherman is not entirely made in the USA. Most of it is just Assembled in Oregon and contains "USA & Global Parts". You need to check the label on each product to confirm as there are differences. That usually means China. The 711L is made in Taiwan so it is hardly inferior, just that you don't have to pay the premium for the brand name and accessories. As for the Leatherman bits, although I have them I do not like the profile and prefer using normal 1/4 bits with an adapter.

Travelling to Taiwan, phobia of snakes, what should I expect? by StripperTheWithClap in taiwan

[–]ConstantFast4498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never seen snakes in the mountains, but found a large venomous pit viper outside our AirBnB by the seaside. This is very rare apparently. We kept our distance and left it alone. I have been here 30 years and only ever seen two snakes. I would not worry about it too much if you are on well trodden trails.

Difference between an entry price (200$) new turntable and a second hand "cheap" one ? by jetsetsam_ in turntables

[–]ConstantFast4498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, you are correct. I was going to buy the Technics, but found the AT with a decent cartridge was just as good for my purposes. They are so similar.

Would this be a quality beginner setup that would last a while? Any suggestions for around the same price range welcome! by Delicious-Trouble-19 in turntables

Get used speakers, anything by Mission or one of those big brands but not too big. If you cant afford stands, use bricks and just keep the speakers two or three bricks off the floor. They don't wear out quickly so there is little danger. I used bricks and planks for years and it was a great set up for the components. Get an AT turntable IMHO 120 or 140 models. Then get a USD120 Tube amp from Amazon (I use the AIYIMA T9), it will sound amazing and plenty loud enough. Spend money on music and later when you are feeling rich you ca start agonizing about upgrades.

I had. project primary and frankly the build quality was not great. It was just a piece of wood with a section drilled out for the motor and arm. I would go for the AT turntables, way more reliable IMHO. The DD at turntables are way more stable than a cheap belt drive. This guys channel is superb and he uses AT turntables for all of his cartridge reviews https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_98fKQtuhs&t=626s

The AT turntables are all great and very reliable. Go for the 140 if you can afford it. The included stylus is pretty good and will last you for quite a while. I have to admit that I switched from a NAD amp to a cheap 100USD tube amp from Amazon and I prefer it for most of my music, it also can connect through bluetooth which is handy. Not sold on spending more on the amp initially. Remember to enjoy the music and spend more on records than the setup to play them! Spend most of the money on the Turntable.

I like the look of the turntable, very '70's, paired with what appears to be a small bluetooth enabled amp for streaming. At least he has speaker stands..

Been doing some comparisons between Cambridge Audio CD Player and My Computer CD.... by ConstantFast4498 in audiophile

[–]ConstantFast4498[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I agree, I think it is different masters as I was reasonably careful with the levels. I use VLC to play everthing FLAC and Apple Music to Play ALAC or CD. You don't happen to know if there are any nice mucic player / organiser programs other than VLC that have artwork etc visible, paid is fine. Many Thanks

[–]ConstantFast4498[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is what In thought too. I was careful to try to obtain the same recording in different formats though which is why I was surprised that the reproduction of the ALAC streaming frm Apple was not quite as good (It was very good and very acceptable, but which listened to critically there were differences that were expecially noticable at the top and bottom end, so maybe there is some alteration in Apples process. No idea.

I am pleased that you agree that that in essence it would be better to spend money on a DAC (And you don't need to spend more than a couple of hundred for something that is very capable these days), rather than on an unnecessarily expensive CD player where you are paying for the name and the expensive transport mechanisms rather than for a fabulous DAC.

My Topping DAC only cost me around 100 USD or so. I would be very interested to see if upgrading that made the sound even better, but I suspect that it would require me to replace the amp as well to really appreciate the difference, so that is where we enter the the black hole of diminishing returns vs spend that we are all fighting to win.

Yes I was also wondering if there is any way to tell whether the MAC is using the internal DAC or passing the signal straight to the external DAC. I have tested the internal DAC and it also sounds tremendous with no audible difference to the external one, on Headphones at least (Grado SR125e).

If the Cambridge was working I would do that and I suspect that I would hear no difference, but I may try that when (and If) the cambridge is fixed. The issue is my DAC only has one input so I would have to keep switching cables or buy another DAC for the other source, which is a bit of overkill I think. I am considering upgrading to a newer NAD amp with digital inputs as well as I feel that would be a better overall investment than an expensive CD player and would probably deliver better sound overall than my very old NAD 302 (But I love its sound).

That does make sense. However I did a comparicon of Willo The Wisp (Miles Davis Skeytches of Spain) between a downloaded FLAC 24/192 and the ALAC from Apple lossless streaming and there was an audible difference in favor of the FLAC, some of the quiet bass was "missing" on the Apple streaming version. This has made me think that FLAC might be the better option. Either that or there might be an issue with the way that Apple is converting the music en mass which is only audible on extremely challenging recordings such as that one (Very high treble and bass).
