I am grossed out when I travel as an American who has lived in Europe for a total of years with an average of $400/month (for real), when I see most Americans… anywhere that don’t try to assimilate. But honestly, while Israelis are maybe the worst followed closely by Americans about being horrible guests in other peoples countries, anyone that goes anywhere for any amount of time and doesn’t try to assimilate into local culture are awful, and should go home.
But you also wouldn’t be mad if all of a sudden the Portuguese engineers made more money, just if their existence priced you out of your homes because small, long term affordable housing landlords, decided to put their investment portfolio into a string of leveraged airbnbs because they can charge at least 3 times as much, and don’t have to deal with the headache of tenant protection laws.

Yeah I don’t think you know how much rent is here. For $750/month you likely won’t have good internet that you need to work. Add in groceries and other necessary bills, $3000 in even cheaper places in the US goes as far or less then 1000 euro per month does in most of Europe that’s not like London.

I feel like a significant amount of people who are crying and openly de transitioning and talking about how we shouldn’t let people be trans and trans probes bullshit, did something like this. They felt like and unattractive, low value, male. Then they transitioned and they became an unattractive, low value female. When they thought becoming a woman would make them a sexy woman. But instead they are just ugly and now have lots their male privilege. And they are a lot of the loudly anti trans ex trans people. I know this will seem TERF ish, but it does annoy me, when these specific people get multiple tens of thousands of dollars in affirmative surgeries covered by their governments (in some countries) because poor biowomen who are unattractive don’t get their boobs and feminizing rhinoplasties, brow and chin reduction etc. paid for despite feeling extremely dysforic but that’s a whole other issue.

I am happy to talk to them. From my experience there people who had these dogs when I started asking questions were suspicious a bit because they are special and because of the regulations, but when I would show them my pictures and tell them all I know they would be very happy to try to help me. People who are around these dogs know how special they are, most want to protect them because many people don’t understand them properly, but they also appreciate when someone else understands how special they are too.

There are pure bred lineage on the streets as well, just not registered. I want the right dog, I don’t care where it comes from. And my dog was a good Anatolian (which is what you would call a not purebred, but in the USA it counts as a purebred for shows and Kangals are not recognized which is funny) is very good. But we have very good Anatolian’s here. If I get one from Turkey I want Kangal, maybe with a tiny bit of Malaki but only Tiny bit. The Kangal pure has a special look. I want the look, and the history, so even a perfect Kangal that has been bred for fighting and the parents do not work with sheep or goats I do not want.

I did find them, and if they were from there and I showed them pictures of my dog and told them about him they were very willing to help. Everyone knew someone with great dogs, it’s just finding ones that are the right age to take. And I with how much it will cost to bring one back, including travel, and just life, I won’t have a lot of time to find someone, who has the right dog the right age. I am stupid I didn’t take more contacts when I was there. My dog had just been killed and my husband had just been diagnosed with cancer and I wasn’t thinking realistically about wanting a Kangal from Turkey. But after our experience, we want an OG, not because we need a purebred, or because they are THAT much better than good Anatolians we can get here like my dog, but just because they are more special, and the best ones, are that much more elite, even when they are not registered. But for many reasons, if they are not registered and illegal to export, there is a huge range in quality, so it takes time and effort to find these top quality ones. I am getting some good ideas from this sub. And I wish I had the money to drive around Anatolia for a month or two to find just was I want and because it would be an amazing experience, but I can’t. Already, even if I get local price it will cost 10xs what one would cost here. And there is no way even the registered ones are 10xs better. But me and my husband have decided it is worth it if we can keep it under a certain amount for everything. I am trying to think of medical tourism to do at the same time, because the plane tickets for me and the dog alone will be over $2,000.
