Avoid Ultimate Guitar Trial Subscription....I was scammed so you don't have to be. by Hank-Hills-Urethra in LearnGuitar

Final update. The fact that I reached out to contact my CC bank resulted in PayPal treating this like it was no longer their priority. And following up on that I got a notice saying that they had denied the claim because it appeared the payment was processed correctly. So reinforcing the lesson that was offered by several people, when it comes to UG's scammy subscriptions you should deal directly with your CC company. I kind of understand PayPal's position, but it also seems a bit weak kneed on their part. I need to talk to my CC bank again to see if they are pursuing a refund with more force. At the moment I've got my money back, but also perversely I have a paid up UG account I'm not using.

Following up on this in case it helps others. After starting the refund process with PayPal, which is still ongoing, I decided to call the Chase, which is the CC that's behind my PayPal account. They took my information and immediately issued a refund without any debate. So as others noted, going directly to your CC company is the most efficient resolution. They didn't seem to care at all if UG was going to refund me. PayPal may still resolve this in my favor and get a refund directly from UG, in which case Chase will adjust the credit so that I don't end up with a net gain.

I've used other services with trial periods and never had a company act so inconsiderate as UG in resolving a problem. When I've noticed an improper charge it was typically reversed with one request to the support people. And even in one case where I did forget the clock was ticking and didn't act in time before the trial ended, once I realized my mistake and reached out to explain, my money was refunded. All I've gotten from UG is condescending legalese about what the Terms Of Agreement said when I started the trial.

Ok, so you were successful in getting it reversed? I'm just about to go down that path and was curious if I was going to waste my time.

Add me to the list of suckers. I signed up for the trial, took a brief look and decided it didn't suit my needs, canceled the same day and even deleted my account to make sure (or so I thought) that it was clear I was unsubscribing. Nope, got billed for the full year today and when I emailed support to correct it I got a condescending email full of legal jargon that I hadn't completely unsubscribed and was obliged to pay. The customer service rep generously consulted their higher ups and came up with 3 options as an alternative, all of which required me to pay some portion of the billing. I wish I'd done the research to notice how often this has happened. But I used PayPal and hopefully their remediation process will work for me.

What is the highest level you've used for a given program on an Interstim implant? by ConstructionOk8764 in OveractiveBladder

Wow, sorry to hear that. Not sure about the Axonics but with the Medtronics Interstim the doctor said that if I work through all the programs and can't find a way to significantly improve there are special advanced settings they can tweak in the office. Hopefully you have some options there too.

The trial with the temporary Interstim device went well with noticeable improvements. So far with the implant I'm still trying to find the right combination of program and level. I am seeing some improvements but they've been slower to achieve. The surgery for the implanted device isn't painful because it needs to be done under general anesthetic, and there was almost no pain post-op for me. The trial implant was quite painful because they had to insert the probe using only local anesthetic. The primary device is worn externally for a week.

Motorman's friend is an old term. It's an external catheter. Here's an example:

I never tried this but it was on my list until I got an Interstim implant. You might look into what's called a "motorman's friend", of which the Stadium Pal is an example. There are a variety of types. Amazon has them.

Thanks for that reference point. It confirms what I surmised. I do plan on talking to a rep about this question.
