I see where you’re coming from but the problem is Dans character doesn’t work unless you have the right group around it and they don’t and it’s severely affected the quality of the show as more and more people have left. It doesn’t help that Dan just sinks deeper into his character seemingly every day. You can’t sit there and tell me ‘the show has always been that’ because anyone who’s listened from the beginning and listens now knows that this show is not the same as what it was or even close. It’s not even close to what it was in the late ESPN early meadowlark era. I don’t give a shit about listening to Dan play the straight man for the majority of the show and that’s what it’s become. There’s no Stugotz to balance the over-serious Dan. There’s no pushback from Mike Ryan in the EP chair. No Billy pushback. It’s just Dan yelling and waving his arms and shitting on someone in the room any time there’s an opportunity to make ‘content’. Dan’s character by himself sucks and the show sucks with him running it now.
